I just about got everything ready for the NSE display at Showcase.

attachicon.gifShowcase 1.jpg

Above display of stock from me, Jim Smith Wright and Si Bendall.

attachicon.gifShowcase 2.jpg

Above me at my add on display including N gauge stock from Steve Farmer.

I was surprised how many NSE livery units I had made, not including the Blue/Grey NSE signed units I had for running on Maidstone Barracks.

Since Showcase I have put my efforts into getting ready for my annual home model show in my studio in July. I have finally been putting my real railway items collected over the years on the walls of the studio and outside too. I will post some pics of these soon.

Above some logos I got from collectors corner mounted on painted boards, ready to go on the walls.

The layout will be going up shortly too for the show which will be celebrating NSE 30th anniversary.

Cheers.

Well done mate.

Dave

I still can't believe I painted my black lamppost red! My neighbours thankfully know I am a railway nut!

The gate was crying out for a red LC disc.

A friend was given the Watford sign which I have found a good use for. The warning sign was redundant when I worked on the railway.

Pics of inside the studio will follow in the next couple of days.

Cheers.

Paul

All looking good.

Like the gate and the lamppost looks ace.

In retirement are you taking on house decoration as long as it's NSE red it wants painting.

Thanks Steve.

Steve,

Please note I am in "early" retirement.

I do have a large tin of NSE early blue paint which could be used somewhere, ideal as a feature wall!!

Cheers.

Things are getting there in the studio decoration.

The items consist of Tim Horn's laser cut nameplates & plaques, matchstick nameplates made by a friend, and railway items I collected in my working life or from Collectors Corner.

The Hither Green plaque here is the real thing.

Morning.

Went past your house today. The red lamp post and car stop sign look really good in the front garden.

I have made further progress with items for my open weekend.

Andy on this site donated me some NSE Chiltern logos etc. Now mounted as below.

I have made a new sign to put on my lamppost too.

Should have popped in for a cuppa!!

Nobby,

I would have liked to visit my Northampton friends but I was kept busy with the DIY and I shouldn't have been there while preparing for Lydd Rail, so I couldn't spent more than 2 days. See you soon anyway.

Cheers.

I completed the NSE mobile home, I was going to put a NSE flash & writing on the white band but when painting the masking tape pulled some of the paint off, So I will not take the risk.

You can see I have made it a local train!

I will report what Chris Green says when he sees it at my open weekend on Saturday, should be interesting.

Cheers.

I am just about recovered from my open weekend. I must get the layout ready for it's next outing on 13th & 14th August at Midland Railex at Butterley. I will be running extra NSE stock plus providing further NSE stock to Si Bendall's NSE 30th display.

At my open weekend Chris Green gave us a very interesting talk about how NSE came about and was rolled out. He was impressed with my NSE mobile home and recognised many NSE items on the layouts and displays.

Below the group shot with Chris on Saturday.
