Hi Martin,
This looks like a fantastic project! Which period will you be modelling?
Looking forward to seeing it develop.
Best regards,
Jeremy

That looks very smart Pete.
-
That looks superb. It's not an easy job in this scale.
-
Great to see you back in the modelling spirit again Pete. If you take Kyle to an exhibition, it will be a pleasure to man the controls for a few minutes! (I really enjoyed playing trains on Paddock Wood).
Best regards,
Jeremy

As others have said, really starting to look very good. Regarding Grantham allocation, a look at this thread and maybe a pm might help http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/58826-grantham-the-streamliner-years/
Jerry
Cheers Jerry. I've been following the Grantham thread, Think I'll have to send a PM to see if I can gather some further info on allocations. I've also had a considerable amount of help from the guys of the "Return To Grantham" website who have provided me with photos and info on the various buildings for my layout.

As Pete has said, thats comming along very nicely Jeremy.
Very impressive.
Missy
Thank you Missy. Glad I made the jump to 2FS as the track work really looks great.

I cant wait to see the locomotive allocation
So far I have an A1, A4 and a B1. I hope to add a few others when funds permit. Also, I'd like to get hold of a shed allocation for Grantham from the late 50's just so I get the locos numbers correct and also any visiting locos.

this is starting to look seriously like a fine model
Thanks Nick!

I like the black track plan on the floor. Is that for a roundhouse?
Seriously, very nice work.
Thank you. It's been an interesting project so far and I'm rather enjoying it.
-
That's coming together very nicely Jeremy.
You'll be soon onto that double slip at this rate
Cheers mate! I must say, despite getting more confident with each turnout built, I'm still not looking forward to putting the double slip together.
-
Quite simply "superb"!
-
Looks great!
-
Having only made a sum total of 5 simple turnouts...and pretty bad ones at that...I'm out of the running...I recall there are peeps in the Association who offer a service and might step up to the challenge...
I'll give it a go and see how I get on. Not going to be an easy one!
-
That looks terrific Jeremy.
Always very exciting this stage as you can sort of imagine how the overall layout will be.
Brave man to include a 2mmFS double slip in the mix
Thanks Pete! I must be absolutely off my rocker to attempt a double slip with my little experience in track building but unfortunately it's part of the prototype track plan. Not looking forward to building it, maybe someone experienced will volunteer themselves to build it for me.....hint hint nudge nudge!!!!
-
Jeremy,
This is looking really good - I've been following the build of the coaling plant with interest. To see it in position and in context of track work must be quite exciting. I look forward to seeing it progress.
Ian
Cheers Ian. It is exciting to finally see it in context and I can now see how it will look and I'm excited about progressing the other buildings for the layout. I'll try and post regularly on the progress.
Best regards,
Jeremy

Great work Tom! Great method, thanks for sharing.
-
2FS all the way! I feel realistic track can make a difference to the overall appearance of the layout. Finetraxx does look good but IMHO 2FS track has the edge over it.
-
Jeremy how are the fingers? If I had to solder that much handrail I would have set at least 3 on fire by now.
I still have all my fingers, not sure how though!! I did some more hand rails tonight but only managed one set as they are so fiddly.
-
Hi David,
That's looking really good! Great use of the space and I really like your vertical fiddle yard stack system, I've never seen that before but it's a fantastic space saving idea! Look forward to seeing more as the layout progresses.
Best regards,
Jeremy

Hi Tom,
Many thanks for your kind comments. The 0.25mm wire was from N Brass, link here:

Item number 2281
Hope this helps.

Thank you! I hope to get a bit of the layout track work done over the coming weeks.
Best regards,
Jeremy

Lovely atmospheric photo Andy! Merry Christmas!

Nice work
Thanks mate!

Brilliant model
Cheers Paul! Still plenty to do before it's finished but I'm pleased so far with the results.

Nice to see you back in the modelling chair Graham. Looks like an interesting trackplan and I'm looking forward to seeing your china clay buildings.
Have you detailed any more of your CDA's? I had a go at one of mine using your method.
Best regards
Jeremy
