  1. What are the marks where the handrails go in to the bodyside? Is it a reflection? I noticed them on the Kernow pics too.
  2. I don’t understand how anyone can listen to him, regardless of content. He’s the kind of lad whose head would have been flushed in the bogs on an almost daily basis at my school. He’s such a, well, it rhymes with hick.
  3. I’ve got one coming tomorrow hopefully but I have to say some of it looks rather……plasticky! Yeah, I know most of it is plastic, but you know what I mean! The grey boiler pipes in particular look like they come as part of a Kinder Egg toy! Can someone who has one tell me how it looks in the flesh?
  4. On a separate note, I’d pretty much lost the will to live half way through your mammoth missive. At an estimate 60% of it could have been lost without impacting on the actual points you needed to make. Perhaps some selective editing in future? Please?
  5. It’s never been a struggle. You just emailed the lovely lady who runs the spares service and she sorted whatever you needed. It’s just that it’s now all online. You could always get the bits.
  6. Well, quite. We couldn’t believe it when it happened for a second time and thought Amazon would tell us to jog on, which without the footage I’m pretty sure they would have.
  7. Part 2! I guess the assembly issue can be seen in the top picture, but it blends in well with the weathered effect in my mind.
  8. The arrival of these has been a somewhat low key affair so far!
  9. Have searched for info on previous threads but can’t see any info. Does anyone know if the bodies on the 6 pin (2010 onwards) 03s are interchangeable with the ones on the 18 pin (2017 onwards) ones? If anyone has both types, please could they check?
  10. This seems to be happening with increasing frequency and severity, and it seems to have got worse since all the Eastern Europeans went home after you know what…. It’s almost as if our home grown couriers are less trustworthy, perish the thought. I had a £800 laptop from Amazon stolen TWICE. First time the old switcheroo with something of equal weight. Second time the replacement laptop was apparently dropped off (including photo of it in my porch) but my security camera showed the driver then took it back to his van, putting it in his cab…….
  11. Surprised that this hasn’t appeared on here yet. I got an email on Thursday from Trains4U saying a number of the original batch of wagons had been reassembled properly and weathered and are now available only to these who pre-ordered the original wagons. I ordered 3 packs of the “shunter bands” weathered version (there are also uniformly weathered ones available) and was told that these shunter band wagons have been very popular, so don’t hang about!
  12. Unfortunately not (at least not in this edition of the mag) and I suspect that the tweaks they’ve done on the current one means we won’t see a retool any time soon.
  13. I was born into a Hornby Dublo house in 1970, so the bug was always there. My dad also loved Deltics, so I did too! I had my own layout by 8 (4 if you count BIG BIG Train). Real trains took over from 1981 to 1988, full blown obsession. I was a 40 basher first and foremost. Went to Uni in 1988 and junked all trains (sold layout) for sex, drugs, and rock n roll. At 28 my interest renewed due to the “end” of the 37s, and the promise of main line 40 action again. Started collecting models again around the same time. Not looked back!
  14. I know we all already know on here that the minor issues with loose parts on Accurascale’s Deltics weren’t life ending, even though you’d believe they were if you looked at YouTube. However, in the interest of balance, my 37 had detached steps and a handrail that had come loose at one end!! ps, my eyesight isn’t great, does the bottom of the rail push inwards, or to the side (ie in to the door aperture)?
  15. Bachmann did opening doors? I completely missed that! Must have been in my wilderness years. What did I do with all my time before I got my interest in trains back? Oh yeah, got drunk!
  16. Can anyone confirm if you can whack the handle back (figuratively speaking) from a standing start on the OEM sound file and get the wonderful slipping effects that the Legomanbiffo file gives? Love that effect.
  17. Can you give some examples? It may sway my mind in terms of making the loooong drive!
  18. And yet STILL the one model that people actually want and need to be remodelled (class 40) is left like low hanging fruit for someone to pluck and make a fortune on….
  19. Must. Resist. Obvious Answer….. Can’t. What do you think Einstein? I’d suggest clearly not!!!!!!
  20. Does anyone know when we can expect 47435? It seems it isn’t one of the ones on the container which has just arrived from why this thread says?
  21. They didn’t even acknowledge the errors that had been pointed out, let alone change them! The axle covers also seem out of scale quite badly. It looks like on the model one of these would virtually fill the driver’s open window aperture, which obviously wouldn’t be the case on the real thing.
  22. Evening all. Can anyone advise on how easy a horn is to remove from the nose? I don’t want to start tugging (fnarr) if are don’t come off easily or in one piece!
  23. Don’t think it’s always so simple. I had 3 on order, all paid for long ago. They all arrived. I realised that I actually wanted my third one to be a different style (dominos) so sold one at an auction starting at 99p. Subsequently I fell in love with people’s purple Gordons that I saw online, so decided to sell another existing one starting at 99p again. I had no idea I’d do any of the above when I ordered my 3 but was glad to be able to.
  24. I see a purple one has now gone for over £500 on eBay……
