  1. I have a copy of the excellent book 'Caledonian in LMS Days' by Ferguson and Stirling which has early grouping images of CR liveried locos hauling LMS branded rolling stock, so scope for a 1923-5 theme for a layout is possible a little bit sooner, if that appeals (as it does to me!). All the best, Keith
  2. Derails has the L&NER version in stock -- https://www.derails.co.uk/oxford-or76j27004-j27?filter_name=J27 cheers, Keith
  3. I see some good prices for 00 locos at Tony's Trains of Rugby, https://tonystrainsofrugby.com/collections/bargains including the EFE NCB J94 for £124.45: https://tonystrainsofrugby.com/collections/bargains/products/efe-rail-e85004-j94-saddle-tank-amazon-national-coal-board-green-weathered Lovely friendly shop too to visit, recommended. cheers, Keith
  4. Nice artwork there, I guess the next step is to plonk some track down in the space you have and see how it looks, and if any tweaking is required. Perhaps introduce a gentle curve rather than having the trackwork parallel to the baseboard edge? Good luck with the build. Welcome back to the modelling world! All the best, Keith
  5. I came across this great collection of images from the transition era taken by Graham Clark and featured by Alan Monk on Flickr, I thought it worth posting here as a resource for transtion era modellers and to start a thread others might wish to add to: Click on the image to get to the album on Flickr. cheers, Keith
  6. Looks great and nice era :-) Just a suggestion, on the position of the two road shed, to push this back a bit, to allow your locos to be stabled in front of the shed without fouling the points? Clearance may also be tight between the 3-way and the corner of the shed, so if it was pushed back it could be modelled half-relief? Good luck with the build. all the best, Keith
  7. Lovely layout this, the use of walls for the edging works really well, giving the impression of elevation. Could you say what the overall dimensions of the layout are? I've a spare six by two and would like to try something similar. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Keith
  8. Thanks very much @Zunnanfor that information and reply, interesting stuff. all the best, Keith

This is the thing, I have a Hornby LSWR van and a Kernow one on order, plus Hatton's generic coaches on order and have bought Hornby generics (in LSWR and LBSCR liveries), and similarly Rails' Terrier and Hornby's--they're complementary to me, as a purchaser, and run side-by-side. cheers, Keith
