  1. I like the 'aircraft' Castles Steve and will be doing Fairey Battle on mine.3d backscenes are all the rage at the moment.
  2. Although I'm waiting for more scenic bits to come and a few more trees to add at the back, the corner is more or less finished and I'm much happier with it now.The new backscene now makes the one by the fiddle yard look tatty so hold the front page.Where's the Captains photos. A small prairie 4547 does the honours with a mixed train heading for Newton Abbott with a few fruit vans added to its coach.
  3. Hopefully normal service will resume over the weekend unfortunately I don't have any new rolling stock to shew you.Only my 'new' scenic section.
  4. According to the chief executive speaking for the owners 'that ship has sailed' on playing at the Ricoh.Today Walsall said no to a ground share. So it goes on...
  5. At least you know where your home games are being played.I don't.
  6. The highways are jammed with broken heroes on a last chance powerdrive

A lot of people have parked illegally and have been ticketed. So its an even dearer night out than they first thought.

  7. CK.You're a genius and annoying in one post.I should of got you to take them during the day and got the guys at http://www.art-printers.com/index.html to turn them into 10 ft of magnificence.Damn.

    Hornby Star Class

A very nice photo, if expensive of 4018 on ebay. This is what Hornby are releasing soon. Can anyone tell me the location please. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370838196812&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en
  10. Probably so but I thought they were the best available for my needs.Ideally I should have taken a photo of the area depicted and turned it into a backscene but I'm impatient and live 200 miles from there so this did the job. Incidently the printers behind ID backscenes offer the service of turning your photos into an useable backscene here http://www.art-printers.com/index.html
  11. The evening sun goes down as Castle class 5011 'Tintagel Castle' takes the Paddington to Penzance express through the South Hams countryside. Starting to come back together with various scenic items.Saved a lot of the seamoss trees but I'm thinking that maybe less is more with planting them.
  12. I think Kernow should commission the 1366 class to compliment them in their range. They did get to Wadebridge you know.

    EBay madness

Is there a catagory for absolute junk on ebay.Put it in there.
  14. Thanks.Yes.Pack A from series 208 'Hills and Dales' bought from here http://www.newmodellersshop.co.uk/backscenes.htm
  15. Still no trains in shot I'm just shewing the progress made fitting the new backdrop. Not easy to fit whilst leaning over and another lesson learnt but I'm reasonably happy with it.I now need to touch up the hedgerow and refit the buildings.Hopefully some more scenic mats arrive to do the top piece and replant the trees.Close one eye and it looks like Brent Tor in the distance.
  16. I really like the colour of the grass in the foreground on this shot. Can you tell me what scatter you used here please.
  17. When I started this layout way back when I didn't plan very much and jumped in the deep end two footed and subsequently its been compromise after another.I should have done the backscenes first whilst the access was easy but no I put the track on those bare boards. The lure of running trains etc.The original backscene was one of the shortlived, not cheap ones produced by Photojenic but being ahead of the game at the time have now faded considerably. The one on my fiddleyard won't be replaced but looks quite misty and represents Totnes. You've seen the other one on countless photos. Not good. Here is the fiddle yard one in better days. http://www.gwr.org.uk/galsweet2.html Anyway I've put some lining paper over my plywood to try and smooth over its imperfections and its ready for the ID Hills & Dales version which should last a lot longer. If I was doing it from scratch I would use flexible ply and affix the background off the layout.Much easier and cleaner than leaning over your scenery. Its a glorious morning in the South Hams as the developers move in.Its double time for working Sunday and Fathers Day.
  18. My layouts 'real' station was never busy. That's why it closed in 64.
  19. You just can't beat a 45xx or two .A lovely crafted scene my friend.
