Yes I do, I was a member of our local Country Fire Service for a while but at 75 and being fairly frail I wasn't that useful but I do know what these folks put into their endeavours, they are a fantastic bunch of people....... would that there be more like minded. By the way I did hold a hose(for the Aussies)!! Mike ,

Any comment from Mr. Kohler on these issues? Mike

I find this post a little offensive, the majority of Australians I know are decent people, yes, I accept that there are exceptions but they are most definitely in the minority so the generalisation is ridiculous , the Bazza McKenzie mentality hardly exists these days, please tell me a country that doesn't experience issues with alcohol. Yes I am proud to be a part of my community, and live in this beautiful and decent country. Mike

Great initiative Bacchy perhaps Hornby should follow this example, I pay up to 400 dollars for some items only for things to fall off into the carpet monster, some obscure place on the permanent way or just disappearing, never to be found again, so a service like this is really helpful. I have to say though whenever I have contacted Bacchy direct, Jenni and her people have been more than helpful. Rgds.....Mike

A few years ago I changed my doctor, only because of a location issue and it was a good move, he is fantastic but for one issue....my beer consumption, I had 4 to 5 375 ml bottles of Cooper Pale every night, it gets bloody hot here. Anyway after a few visits I got a bit fed up with the question of "still drinking all of that Coopers". So I changed to Crown Lager and the next time he asked me if had reduced my Coopers consumption, I looked him fair in in the eye and truthfully said yes Doc!!........nothing more has been said.

At brekky time, Baby Bear looks into his small bowl. It is empty. “Who’s been eating my porridge?” he squeaks. Papa Bear notes the same. “Who’s been eating my porridge?” he roars. Mumma Bear puts her head through the serving hatch from the kitchen and yells, “For goodness sake, how many times do we have to go through this? It was Mumma Bear who got up first; it was Mumma Bear who woke everyone in the house; it was Mumma Bear who made the coffee; it was Mumma Bear who unloaded the dishwasher and put everything away; it was Mumma Bear who set the damn table; it was Mumma Bear who put the friggin’ cat out, cleaned the litter box and filled the cat’s water and food dish; and, now that you’ve decided to drag your sorry bear arses downstairs and grace Mumma Bear’s kitchen with your grumpy presence, listen good, ’cause I’m only going to say this one more time ... I haven’t made the goddam porridge yet!”

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
ikks replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
I thought I didn't need a Deltic or a class 37, but the quality these folks are turning out......How could I not get them............I'm very sad, but then again going to be very happy, not sure SWMBO will be though!! Mike -
That looks to be a cracking model....soon to be a proud owner I hope!! We've had a number of pre-grouping models up to modern standards produced recently, I for one, hope this trend continues. Mike

I spent a lot of time at Tamworth in the late fifties/very early sixties, there were very few stopping trains on the low level, the most notable being the " 9'o clock stopper",usually Jubilee hauled, which we all rushed down to the "field" to see when our train arrived from Derby. Most of the other stoppers were non-descript fairly short loco headed trains or DMU s. We were there to see Princesses, Duchesses, Scots etc. which. with the exception of perhaps the Caledonian, seemed to be hauling far longer trains than we saw on the "Midland". Rgds.......Mike

I love this thread, faced with your issues, me, I would probably just do a "Sams Trains" and run my stuff on the on the floor, but once down there, I'd probably have to get SWMBO to help me up again!. Rgds.....Mike
