  1. I think our friend with the Railroad wagon pack is unimpressed
  2. Persuaded the G/F to treat me to one for Crimble! Happy Xmas everyone !
  3. I offered 3 quid . Do you think he'll get the hint?
  4. Or available brand new direct from Dart Castings for 12 quid
  5. There are some true "visionary" craftsman in this hobby whose dedication to prototype fidelity take some beating. The idiot that made that horror is not one of them and needs to take a beating
  6. Let's not forget cab steps out of line of the cab doors and the massive slop in the coupling rods.
  7. Busted body work and a non runner. Good job it's got a "low reserve" on it then https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heljan-GWR-Night-Owl-Renumbered-as-4700-NON-WORKING/392930535643
  8. Take your time, read the instructions. Everything fits together well. Pretty straightforward build.
  9. I live in Newfoundland and regularly buy stuff from UK. It's an etched kit, very lightweight and Dave Ellis isn't a postage pirate.
  10. Bachmann chassis will have the wrong wheel spacing. Buy the SE Finecast etched chassis, it's an excellent piece of kit!
  11. What about them autotrailers then, eh?
  12. Please let me/Us know when it's available. Looks great and I would like to have one!
  13. Can these be purchased by peeps or is it your own 'private' print?
  14. They pronounce Herbs as Erbs here in Canada (Yanks do as well). Makes me cringe. I live in Newfoundland and here they drop "H's" and the add them to words that don't have them! You struggle to Hunderstand.
  15. The last Hornby Toad van pee's all over the Ratio kit. Ratios version is a mix n' match twixt diagrams.
  16. Many years back I started a City of Truro plastic kit and the Nellie chassis was used as (if I recall correctly )it had the same wheel base. Never finished the kit. No idea what happened to it.
  17. If you look at the picture in the original post, the frames on an Armstrong 4-4-0 are achievable using two Lord of the Isles bodies and the tender can be detailed up as well. A City has completely different frames/splashers and boiler. The City kits tender would need the upper sides removing, easier to just go with an "Isles" tender imo.
  18. What belpaire firebox? Lord of the Isles has a roundtop one. Use a Branchlines chassis or if you have an old Triang Nellie, use the chassis from that.
  19. The trick is don't wait for the glue to go tacky, just dab the glue on and stick to the side straight away, which gives time to adjust.
