  1. Can't see collectors whining, Lord of the Isles isn't exactly a rare model.
  2. Dumb question, Er....why didn't you just swap the chassis? Woulda saved some cursing
  3. I got two of the chassis' off Shapeways. The bars were bent out of whack so cut them off and replaced with brass. Two of the brake blocks were deformed so they were all removed and cast whitemetal ones from Wizard Models fitted. The Dynamo was a bit weedy and of a different type to the pic in Russell's GWR coaches so they went as well. Fitted some Lanarkshire Model buffers and "voilà" (Might as well have scratchbuilt my own chassis) <sigh>
  4. I have some original Hornby ones (if I can find them) Pm me your details and slip me about £1.50 for postage, I'll mail you one.
  5. Looking at my stash of Bettabitz sides I notice I am missing several of the vents that go above the doors and on the Clerestory roof. Does anyone supply etched ones or even cast ones? Also does anyone produce seperate etched droplights as I have a lot of Phoenix and Westdale coach kits which supply cardboard ones. Can't say I'm keen on card.
  6. Thanks Brian. When I next get some spare cash I shall be ordering a stash.
  7. What chassis and rooves are recommended for the Hammond and Peter K kits, particularly the Clerestory ones please?
  8. Having recently acquired some TPO coach/van side etches and ends (Peter K and Hammond 4mm scale). Where would one find castings and or etches for the catch nets and drop offs, please? Or is it scratch build time?
  9. Fackin 'ell, I didn't expect the Spanish inquisition for "losing four coaches into the system" Now if I spent £120 on fags and booze or went down the Bookies would anyone raise an eyebrow? I'm somewhat amused/bemused by the furore.
  10. I hear you John. You are indeed correct, I should come clean but for the sake of peace, I'll keep my silence!
  11. It not the media, it's the way the law works. You get arrested and charged, the burden of proof is on you to prove your innocence. Trust me. Been there, done that. But back to topic on hand, let's hope KR pulls through!
  12. Common misconception. Presumed guilty until the accused can prove otherwise!
  13. Supplier of transfers and relationship advice. Is there no end to your talents John? I'll keep my secrets to the grave, it's safer that way !
  14. "Trains are a waste of money" But getting sozzled on beer regularly isn't. ;-)
  15. I'm on a strict no models order...but I had to grab them while they were cheap, honest Guv'
  16. Had a set of these arrive yesterday. (Snuck them into the house today whilst the G/F was out) Couldn't resist a set at £29 a pop (no VAT) from Model Railways Direct. Great underframe detail and excellent overall finish! Very pleased.....now just gotta explain why we can't afford to eat for the next month or so.
  17. Slow progress. Too much house renovating and life in general. Would have helped if I hadn't cut the body in the wrong place and had two joins right together. (2nd and 3rd pic)
  18. Still no reply to my email regarding the internet order I placed . Arf arf arf.... If it was yer dog, you’d take it to the vet on a one way trip out of kindness
  19. I’m chewing over this, with removing the solebars and slicing down the middle adding a 2mm strip and mounting onto Comet underframes. I also have some offcut Collett underframes so maybe a play with them? the Centre panels on the ends would be wider than the others but in a rake will it be that noticeable?
  20. I have a fair few floating about. Going to be carnage!
