  1. Fascinating pictures David, a real pleasure looking through these and interesting info. I know the location of C18480 at Blyth south harbour very well indeed, used to walk along there to go fishing on the pier every weekend with my school mates. Still fish off there in the winter. Thank you for posting these.
  2. Another excellent selection David, I do enjoy seeing pictures of the Blyth & Tyne being a local lad. C11755 is my favourite in this batch.
  3. More excellent pictures David. The picture of Stobswood, J7129, seems a very short train, 6 coaches? Was this normal? Any idea of the consist? Looks a nice modellable train. Rich.
  4. I like the look/ sound of this idea! will follow with interest.
  5. Nice short train in C12159 that could easily be recreated on layouts. What was the normal consist for this train? Thanks, as always, for posting.
  6. Day we caught the train by Ocean Colour Scene
  7. Just been to put my bin out and saw this little fella, was a genuine pleasure to see it, think I’ve only ever seen three live ones in my life;
  8. Hi everyone. I’ve been handed a controller to look at, I’ve no idea why, I can only assume that because I have an interest in model railways that must mean I know how to fix things. I’d appreciate some help if anyone is familiar with the controller in question. It’s a Helmsman Electronics controller, model is MM1/5. The problems with it according to the note are; “speed control not working, running on max speed all the time. Reverse also not working.” Ive attached a couple of pictures. Could anyone suggest a few tests I can do? Thanks.
  9. Big thank you to @Trains4U for sorting me out with a box of flexi track, struggled to find anyone with boxes of it and they got it to me in rapid time. Also a big thank you to DPD as their tracking said it was not due until Monday but arrived today much to my surprise!
  10. @Accurascale Fran are there any plans to do wagon loads for these models like you did for the HUOs?
  11. I’ve got two working cockers who are absolutely mental, even more so now that they don’t get as long walks as usual. Such valuable companions. Being one of the “key workers” I look forward to coming home and getting jumped all over, such unconditional love. People who have never owned a dog wont understand, but those that do will know exactly what I mean I’m sure. My dogs, Brian and Toby.
  12. Does anyone know a retailer who still has boxes of PECO SL-100F code 75 flexi track in stock? I’ve had a good trawl round the net today and can’t find any. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, but thought it would catch the attention of a retailer who is still operating. Thanks.
  13. So would these Hornby wagons be suitable to repurpose as ZKO engineers wagons? looking at your brilliant website @hmrspaul the majority of the ZKO’s pictures have roller bearings, would this be the only major alteration required? Thanks for the replies.
  14. Hi all. After receiving my weekly newsletter email from model railways direct I noticed the new Hornby 27t iron ore tippler, product number R6966. They’re marked up as MSV wagons, but I can’t see any vac cylinders etc on the underframe. Are these labelled wrong and should be marked as unfitted MSO wagons? https://www.modelrailwaysdirect.co.uk/rolling-stock-freight/Hornby-r6966-br-27t-msv-iron-ore-tippler-7663-era-7/ Cheers.
  15. Hi, having received the invoice today, does that mean the outstanding balance is now due? What is the deadline? Thanks.
  16. Well done for finishing the walrus! Could I hell get my head around my attempt, what a confusing mess. It got shoved in a box in a fit of rage, probably never to see the light of day. I’ve got a whale kit by Cambrian too but haven’t dared open the packet!
  17. Absolutely love the Blyth and Tyne photos, especially South Newsham as I know the area so well. I used to play Sunday league football on the pitches down the road from the crossing. I also had a friend called Smeg that lived in the row of houses next to the crossing, could watch the trains go past from his bedroom window. Happy times! Thanks as always for posting.
  18. I’m definitely no photographer, and my pictures are certainly not the quality of others in this thread, but I took the following pictures on my phone whilst on holiday in 2013. My wife and I were staying in Topsham, we got the ferry across the river Exe and walked along the river to Starcross.
  19. Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an HST as dirty as in C8208!! More excellent pictures, thank you. Rich.
  20. Ahhh the Lonsdale in Jesmond, I’ve stumbled out of there more times than I care to remember! There’s a Sainsbury’s there where those props are now. Sorry for going OT. Rich.
  21. Love this layout/diorama. Your weathering and track detailing are superb. As others have also said, the backscene works a treat giving a real sense of perspective. Regards Rich
  22. These look excellent so far Phil, will be following with interest, especially when North Road gets to the stage of signals. Rich.
  23. Electric showers and cookers, but could be anything really. What is your current set up? Is it an RCD on the front end supply or do you have a split board? My father has an RCD on the supply side to his old Wylex board, so if he has an earth fault or if he turns the RCD off he loses everything. My house has a split board as shown in the attached picture.
  24. Hi, just found this thread. I like the use of the two shelves, a great idea for a compact layout like this. It’s good to see you’ve picked it back up after moving. One thing I would point is the point leading to the engine shed. The siding going around the side of the shed is at a horrible angle off the point. I think you would be better of replacing it with a wye point. Keep up the good work, will be interested to see this progress.
