  1. It’s in the wrong thread then 😆
  2. On Revolution’s website it states they are in production and expected in the UK in summer 2022.
  3. I agree with you Mike. Airing problems and sharing solutions is one of the great benefits of a Forum like this. Angry rants as a first course of action are not.
  4. This thread serves many purposes covering all sorts of topics from initial announcement through to delivery, running in and modifications people have made. I’m sure I’m not alone in not wanting it to be seen as a place where people can post their unlettered opinions without allowing the manufacturer to fix things first. For the record, I have bought a number of products by Revolution Trains not all of which I still have. One arrived in a condition that I was not happy with, so I contacted Revolution Trains about it, was offered two alternative solutions of which I chose the refund option. Things do sometimes go wrong. Mouthing off on here should not be the first response.
  5. There’s a pic on the Accurascale Class 89 Model Thread (posted last night) of the loco pushing a rake of Mk4s, all in GNER livery.
  6. Heel be regretting that decision.
  7. Apologies for thread drift but I like to see credit given where it’s due. The original picture is by David Rostance on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/71592768@N08/8456026173/in/album-72157631273880764/
  8. DM Toys here in Germany have a dummy class 27 in stock by the look of it: https://www.dm-toys.de/en/product-details/Dapol_2D-013-054.html
  9. Agreed. I’ve got a selection of their 20, 30 and 40ft container kits and they all require painting.
  10. Many years ago (and before I met her) my wife lived in Speicher and worked in St.Gallen. She used to cycle to work (because St.Gallen is 300 metres lower down) and get the train back home. She lived in Bahnhofstrasse 12 (12 Station Road). There were meadows immediately behind and the omnipresent sound of cowbells. I’ve just shown her the pictures and she recognised some of the views.
  11. For a moment I wondered why that picture was on this thread, and then the penny dropped 🙄
  12. Seen in Belfast. It’s the comment under the red “Boat Tours” banner that made me smile…
  13. It looks like it to me. Had the same issue with one of my recent arrivals (the revised NSE livery version) so it’s gone back to the shop for replacement. ** Edited 29/6: replacement was the same. Also going back. ** ** Edited 2/7: third one was ok. Phew. **
  14. It isn’t a fish, it’s a mammal. Well, two actually; the name is used as an alternative for either the well-known killer whale or the less well-known Risso’s dolphin.
  15. Words cannot describe how good that joke is, but numbers can: 0/10.
  16. Did you mean to put that in this thread: Not many purely third rail EMUs at Liverpool Street 🙂
  17. I’d say you’ve got it there. The bridge looks right and you can see the up and down lines starting to diverge towards the end of the train.
  18. Who could have foreseen that this thread would quickly become one of those “railway x was better than railway y” discussions? 🙄
  19. This video may have some inspiration for you:
  20. Dragging the thread back on topic, I was told this story recently which made me smile. An acquaintance was driving through Germany a while ago and was under the impression that there was no speed limit on the Autobahn. Only some sections are unrestricted, there are lots of sections that do have a speed limit. Therefore, he was going way too fast on a section with a 130kph limit. He was stopped by the police and fined on the spot; the “ignorant Johnny Foreigner” defence having had no effect. On handing over the receipt for the fine, the police officer smiled and said, “for this amount of money you could buy a washing machine, but all you have is this little piece of paper, goodbye.”
  21. David, I find it incredibly poignant that you have chosen to mark your return with images of a subject that was “alive” for so long, but is now no more. I hope you can take some small comfort knowing that there are many people here who have never met you, nor will ever meet you, that wish you well.
