Is it me or does anyone else think the girl in the C&M models banner looks like she's wearing a ww2 German cap?

Was looking at the Manchester trams. Is it me or does anyone else think having to have platforms to enable people to get on and off is one of the most stupid ideas for a tram ever.

Trams don't *need* platforms at all - look at a lot of European systems where older stretches of line still just have roadside tramstops - Dresden for example, where the [low floor] trams run down the centre of the road, and traffic has to stop to allow people to alight. Not even onto a kerb, just straight on to the road. Trams carry manual ramps for wheelchair users.

While waiting for a DPD parcel van to move out of my disabled parking space outside my home. We watched him spend five minutes sorting the back of his van out throwing parcels from side to side untill he found the one he wanted which he threw from the front of the van to land by the back door even though upside down you could clearly read the words This way up and Fragile

I was thinking the other day (always risky) and knowing Triang then Hornbys penchant for stretching or compressing body's to fit stock chassis after building the Caley single and Lord of the isles why they never made a Midland spinner single. Was there ever any plans too?

Does spending 20 minutes putting together a kinder toy for my granddaughter constitute real modeling?
