  1. Hi Manna What a superb thread with brilliant locos, its amazing that they are all scratch built with plasticard, a real inspiration to me (as i am also a scratch builder as well and also hoping to scratch build an engine in the near future) so I will be following this thread with interest and to pick up tips. cant wait to see the finished railcar. David beat me to it, but may I also ask how you did the curved roof on the cab?, as it looks fantastic (and a lot of GNRI locos had them) Many thanks Nelson
  2. I'm in the mood for scratch building again, so I've ordered a fair bit from Hattons to get me started again.

  3. Bachmann 4f, should I buy it? The only bad thing is, that I would be paying for it, grrr.

If a workbench is too clean it's not a workbench

  5. Don't you just hate it when, you see a really cheap, good price engine that you want to convert, but you then find out its a limited edition.

  6. BREAKING NEWS: Latest information has just come in from our reporters in the garage that a extension to the layout will be on its way very soon, keep checking back for the latest development on the layout. There's a bit of news for you today, we decided (dad decided) that it was about time we started to build an extension to the layout, every exhibition we have been to, one question that always keeps popping up is. "Are you going to extend it?" So with public demand and a scope for more operating potential, the baseboards for the extension were completed today. If we built the layout so far in 5 weeks then this one should be finished in time for the biggest exhibition in Northern Ireland next year. Thanks
  7. Thank you For anyone who is interested, I'm going to do the same type of video for the LNER,LMS, GWR etc....
  8. Thanks Apart from the NCC brake van, then no nothing else. Until I can think of a wagon to make.
  9. Yes that's right, it's a GNRI brake van, they were fairly popular here in Northern Ireland, used up north and down south. Here's the link to the brake van, which you can buy, http://www.provincialwagons.com/2.html And there is one still in preservation today, http://www.steamtrainsireland.com/carriages/81.html
  10. Here's what I'm working on at the moment. Need to repair the buffer and fix the footboard. I have finished this, just forgot to take some photos.

I found this, Don't know how accurate it is, but it's a start http://2509-silverlink.deviantart.com/art/LNER-A4-livery-chart-part-two-344348176 http://2509-silverlink.deviantart.com/art/LNER-A4-livery-chart-part-one-335551833 you can click on the photo and zoom in to see a better quality photo, which the numbers are more clearer to read. Hope this helps
  16. I'm glad the Tcut worked out well for you. Wartime A4s, I think that during ww2 the A4s would have been filthy, and rarely kept clean. (I could be completely wrong, this is what I think, so please double check) Can't wait to see more of your fantastic work
