  1. Have you gone into cv29 and disabled everything you don't need, particularly DC running. It will make a noticeable difference. Also, are there external suppresser caps on the Tenshodo spud? If so get rid of them as the they will interfere with the decoders built ion suppresser. It might also be worth asking the question in the DCC forum.
  2. Thanks for that Iain but I can't get it to install.
  3. Hi everyone. Do any of you lovely people happen to have the software download for the DR4050? The site has gone along with Digikeijs (shame that) and a friend has one that needs reprogramming. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Wood for baseboards and points. Sometimes used track can be used but pointwork often goes out of shape when it's lifted.
  5. The OP wasn't asking about the lifespan of plastic only its possible reaction to solvents. Let's stay focussed chaps.
  6. I believe Olivia's Trains can be helpful with Heljan parts.
  7. Just a suggestion but it might be easier to repaint the whole buffer beam with a shade that's as near as you can get?
  8. First job with any Bachmann loco should always be to do exactly what you've done with the horrible grease.
  9. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
  10. HI All Can anyone tell me what colour the LNER Garratt lettering was when it was lettered 'BRITISH RAILWAYS'? The Fox transfers are in white, light cream and dark cream but as it's for a commission I want to be sure. Thanks in advance.
  11. Thanks for the replies. I may build a short test sample just to be sure.
  12. Does anyone know if Bachmann locos will run smoothly through C&L pointwork or do the flanges catch on the inside of the chairs. I seem to remember when the original range came out it was reported that this may be a problem but that was twenty odd years ago.
  13. Any 24vDC psu will do. Try Gaugemaster.
  14. it's opened straight away for me using Windows 10 and Office 2019.
  15. I've found the DCC Concepts Next18 to be good on Dapol locos but for some reason the 6 pin equivalent is not great on Graham Farish Bo-Bos. I can't get them to creep on speed step 1
  16. Hi John Sorry it's been a while. Your suggestions worked a treat. Thanks for the info.
  17. Have a look at Johnp's reply to my question here. It solved the class 26 problem.
  18. I think 0 Fine recommends 6' minimum radius for all but the smallest locos. A thing to consider with S7 though would be clearances around valve gear etc especially if you need side play to accommodate track radius.
  19. The 'balsa baulk' will be for shaping the jib.
  20. One thing a stay alive does is to smooth out ang cogging at very slow speeds as does turning DC off in CV29.
  21. Zimo are amongst the best around but are currently very hard to find. As a result I've been using DDC Concepts ones. They seen to do the job well and are sensibly priced. They are also plug and play with their own stay alives.
  22. Very sad news indeed. My very best wishes for you and your family as you hopefully move forward.
