  1. Or a pipe between the rails with a vacuum to pull the trains along :)
  2. Because, as has already been stated, someone broke it/abused it.
  3. I believe there will be different combinations of coaches. That being the case, the longest ones could be named after kings.
  4. A similar thought crossed my mind. What is it about the Warley Show that winds people up so much. Ok, I have to confess I've never been, it was on my bucket list, but if I go by the feedback on this thread, I don't think it will stay on said list, The objections raised, bad behaviour etc, can be found at any gathering of people, the more people that gather, the more you're likely to experience these problems. But surely they need to be balanced against thr advantages of a large exhibition, more layouts - more inspiration, more demos - more opportunity to learn, more trade stands - more chance of getting a bargain or finding that elusive item you've been after for ages,
  5. Rather than tax your brain with all this stuff, why not go and do some railway modelling. Time will soon go then.
  6. It's not even as if they had to worry about buffer locking on tight curves.
  7. In the hope that I may, possibly, bring this thread back on topic, a few pics from yesterday's run to Plymouth: Some 'Old & New' shots and proof of a successful 'Bird Strike Test' well successful for the class 800, not for the seagull. Should have been another run to Plymouth today, but according to RTT it was cancelled

    Boxed means?

I'm interested in the opinions of others, on a minor problem I've encountered with an eBay purchase. I bid on, and won, 2 items which were described as boxed, but when they arrived, they were not the correct boxes for the items; 1 had a label on the box flap with the description of the actual item, the other box was for a different item. I've seen items listed as boxed but in incorrect boxes, so assumed that, unless otherwise stated, boxed meant in the correct box. Did I assume incorrectly?
  9. Local press in Plymouth reporting major points failure at Bristol TM. Didn't something similar happen a few weeks back?
  10. A similar statement could be made substituting 'arms' with 'cigarettes'.

    EBay madness

But then again some people would say that someone who collects miniature models of railway locos is weird!
  12. Without wanting to hijack the thread, any suggestions for the best 'stitching' package?
  13. Having been lurking in the wings of RMWeb and making the occasional appearance to ask silly questions or make even sillier comments, I thought it was about time I came clean on what I'm really up to. Well here it is, (or as much as I've done so far) The Royal Albert Bridge in n scale from card

  16. For what it's worth, a link to my video of Tornado crossing the Tamar: Apologies for the audio quality, not sure what happened.
  17. Another vote for UHU. Tried Superglue but me and Superglue don't get on!

Na, a politician would have said something along the lines of, "I may have said it's never been out of the box, but that's not what I really meant"
  19. Someone should have told him you're not supposed to load containers by scooping them up with the loading ramp.
  20. Never liked sprouts. My worst fears were confirmed by a recent radio programme, apparently they contain cyanide. Just passed on that info to SWMBO, no guesses for the response I got, "I'll have to put more on your plate then",
