  1. Sorry I can't be with you, but my absence will leave a few pieces of cake for someone else. Hope you have a great time. Brian
  2. Agreed. Mods, any chance this thread could be merged with the existing thread, please.
  3. Thanks. I thought it was TOPS but when I googled that, all I could find was reference to loco codes
  4. As a non-railway man, I find some of the jargon I read on RMWeb confusing, (that's not meant as a criticism, just an admission on my part). One thing which I would like to understand is the codes used for freight wagons TEA, TTA etc). Can someone point me in the direction of a layman's explanation of this.
  5. Hope they remember to keep them. It'll make a big difference to the price when they sell them!!
  6. No, just the fireman being too slow pulling the bag out!
  7. Not quite human but they are (hu)man's best friend. Seen at the South Devon Railway today. Is this the only canine volunteer with its own hivis jacket

    EBay madness

You mean like wot politicians do. (Oops, sorry, just remembered, not supposed to mention politics on this forum)!
  9. Good to see Cornwall getting a mention. I've passed that factory scores of times, and often wondered what was produced there.
  10. I like the fact that having made all that effort to lift the first barrier, it decides it can't be bothered to do it all again with the second one and just steps over/on it.
  11. Thought I'd read elsewhere on this forum that bubble wrap causes problems. Did I get that wrong?
  12. Hi Jim, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would want to say a big thank you for all your posts this year, and to wish you and your family a happy and peaceful Christmas, Brian
  13. I'm never too sure about hydrogen as an alternative power source. Yes hydrogen powered vehicles are environmentally friendly, but I'm not sure the same can be said about the hydrogen production process.

What's that old saying, something aboutBeauty is in the eye of the beholder, It obviously looks good -fair to them,
  15. Just noticed this thread. I note you're working with card and styrene. Can I ask what adhesive you use to join these 2 materials?
  16. So I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by this. Thank goodness for that. I too find myself correcting eBay addresses when I copy and paste them, 'cos thats how it should be'! While I agree it's probably down to laziness, the Internet is partly to blame. We (try to) teach kids to use capital letters and punctuation, then introduce them to search engines which don't need capital letters, and web addresses which not only don't use capitals, but don't have spaces between the words
  17. I'm finding that my (relatively) new PC running Windows 10 is going the same way as my previous PC running Windows XP After each update it takes a little bit longer to boot up. This was the reason I finally got rid of the old one. It became so slow it was almost unusable.
