  1. Leclerc WAS right to be concerned about his engine! (I bet you he got Vettels engine when they did the chassis change...)
  2. But like Schubert, he left his last one unfinished!
  3. Leclerc has already pinched "My engine sounds funny"!
  4. Not that I'd want to dance on anyone, but Vettel qualified in P11, despite getting a new chassis. Looks like he should be "considering his position", perhaps thinking about "spending more time with his family"? Perhaps Ferrari might resurrect an old Roman tradition. Have they a gladius at the back of the garage?
  5. Lincolnshire? Hes a bit young.... As I scrolled through I thought "Hello Beatrice!", then the brain cell flipped and told me not to be silly.... Nice loco!
  6. Dad was in the RAF in India He didn't do anything special, as I understand, Just one of the backroom staff. He volunteered as aircrew on the supply flights during the battles of Imphal and Kohima But he'd never talk about his war.

    EBay madness

But at least its neatly made....
  8. No wonder it was shortened to "Peri" She was the only person that made the fifth and sixth Doctors worth watching, awfully fond of wearing skimpy tops and leaning forward! More intellectual (The thinking mans Dr Who assistant?), and accompanying the previous two timelords, I have fond memories of Sarah Jane Smith. There you go. I've a stainless steel Salmon steamer if that would be of help???

    EBay madness

There's a bloke around here who does domestic artificial turf installations and drives around in an old landrover, covered in his product. I've often been tempted to get an old loco and apply flock and static grass to it...
  10. Surely that would be a sheep and a pair of wellies? (allegedly, according to National stereotyping!)

    EBay madness

And its nice to see that Looks like the vendor has been reading too many ebay items from China.
  12. I see Vettle is going to get a new chassis because his current one has "faults". A new entry in the litany of excuses?
  13. You always get better pictures on the wireless... I remember hearing lWM on my grandmothers radio, she would put it on a few minutes before it started to allow the valves to warm up, there's nothing more evocative of pre-transistor technology than the sound becoming slowly audible, or a TV picture emerging into focus for that matter! I don't recall any of the stories however... That reminds me, I'll have to dig out my Ladybirds. (The Pacific on the cover looks ugly enough to be a Thompson rebuild...)
  14. Hornby O Gauge tinplate, I should imagine, given the "antiquity" of the toyshop!. 'fraid so. Evidently in one of the missing 51 episodes, there's a golliwog in whiteface... A lucky escape! Apparently. Looks like its claymation rather than puppetry. I like the dragon!
  15. Full marks for recognition!
  16. The one with the androgynous toy* with extending legs and arms? Thankfully beyond my powers of rememberance, I've only seen an episode on utoob, up there with Magic Roundabout for spaced out whackiness! Actually on topic as the establishing shot of the toyshop has a toy train shuttling to and fro in the window! * Described as a boy, but has a 50s ponytail....
  17. This is Iconic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_icons Anything* else is lazy journalism. *Apart from similar images from Orthodox Christianity...
  18. The first early Anderson effort that I vaguely remember was Torchy the Battery Boy again with an awful theme song. Somewhere, I still have an annual for it. The next was a cowboy series, Four Feather Falls The child entering the store at the beginning looks rather like a cabbage patch/pod child...
  19. The Thunderbirds March was something quite special, unlike the descriptive/soppy lurve songs that infested the others. Anyhow, my aunt had connections with Thunderbirds so I treat the series with a bit more leniency...
  20. Supercar was still a bit rough around the edges. It took Fireball XL5 to do further rounding off before the Andersons went into colour and produced Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. This Supercar episode is rather Film Noirish, with dodgy hoodlums. The theme songs remained distressingly awful.
  21. I liked it when it leapt from the water while being chased by Stingray in the title sequence. And Supercar? The ignition sequence of course! Yep, things do stick in the memory.
  22. It has been noted elsewhere on RMweb that the Spitting Image looks similar to a Stingray character, Surface Agent X-2-Zero, Titan's inept agent on land. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stingray_(1964_TV_series)#Recurring_villains I think "inept" is the mot juste.....
