  1. My pleasure Mudmagnet. The owner said he may run it with some different stock and maybe some green diesels next week, be good to see the difference. Steve.
  2. I wasn't expecting it but Acacia Avenue turned up at the Romford Model Rail exhibition yesterday and what a fine layout it is too. glad to see it in the flesh and I was even allowed to have a little play! Many thanks to the operator. I'm sure you'll be pleased to know it's being well looked after, drawing a lot of attention and runs like a dream. It should be at Shoeburyness next week so I'm looking forward to that a lot. Steve.
  3. I've thought of that but I cant come up with any ideas to compete with her! Steve.
  4. My girlfreind has been getting very interested in my hobby, got to say it's great to share it with her. She's acctually building a 4mm scale allotment scene mostly from scratch and it's bloody good, much better than I could have done!!!!!!!!!!! Steve.
  5. Added a buffer stop and some clutter at the end of a siding.
  6. A Rose is Still a Rose - Aretha Franklin
  7. Ok, thanks for that Adrian, much appreciated. Steve.
  8. Thanks Adrian, I havent been undercoating stuff which probably explains why I cant get the look I'm after. What about unpainted timber as wooden platforms etc do you treat the balsa with washes? Steve.
  9. Adrian, can you tell me how you've painted your balsa wood or the coffee stirrers in some of your earlier posts please? I've been reading through some earlier bits of the topic but cant find it. Thanks. Steve.
  10. Over Like A Fat Rat - Fonda Rae
  11. I'd love to know more about the techniques used on the layout and stock weathering, does antone know if Gordon has a website or blog anywhere? Steve.
  12. Looks great guys, hope to see the layout in the flesh sometime. How do you plan to operate it, do you have a sequence? I've seen a small depot layout at a show where they started with the steam era and gradually worked through to the BR Blue era, really was interesting to watch. Steve.
  13. Who is He and what Is He To You - Bill Withers
  14. Got a copy and Arun Quay is simply stunning! I'd recommend purchasing the magazine, I'd love to know more about the techniques they use, everything looks so natural. Thanks for posting the pictures Gilbert. Steve.
  15. There's Nothing Like It - Omar
  16. Got these from my local Wilkos the other day for £1, I don't expect too much from them but they're fine for weathering and got a couple of useful shapes in there, indeed I used them on a lorry I weathered. Steve.
  17. Love come down - Evelyn champagne King
  18. Not sure how it shows up in the photos but I've taken back some of the weathering on the lorry as I thought it looked a bit too dirty. Looking at the picture I wish I could get inside the cab and put a newspaper or something on the dashboard but I've superglued the wheels to stop them moving! Steve.
  19. Wanted to have a go at some weathering techniques so over a couple of evenings I've had a go at a Base toys lorry and fork lift truck. I tried a Valejo weathered wood set for the bed of the lorry, the set is really good but I think the effects are easier to get with larger scale models, I'm reasonably pleased though. Steve.
  20. Fantastic little layout, cant wait to see more photos, what's the overall size? Steve.
  21. Welcome to the go go - Ayre Rade
