I'm not familiar with the German trains mentioned, but I would say that the LNER's Silver Jubilee and Coronation streamlined trains would be up there with the best, and the LMS' Coronation Scot.
Agree totally. Our users also get fed up with us blocking "bit.ly" and "goo.gl" short links, but it's not them that would have to sort the mess out if it redirects to a dodgy place.
I think quite a few lines have taken advantage of the extended shut down to get maintenance and renewals done without the pressure of having to be done in time for running days. The difficulty of course is having the funds available to carry out that work.
