  1. Look at vids of 483006 before being retired on IOW, was lots of wheelslip as if i remember there was an issue with some sort of resistor bank on one DM so would go straight to full power. On my sound project the wheelslip only occurs if you wack the speed on the controller right up from a standstill. Drive normally and it wont happen. it also has the two clicks of the line breakers closing that you mention when starting off. i wasnt able to find a clip of one of the rotary compressors, i did look but sadly nothing. If you know of any id love to include it as a selectable option! eric
  2. Sooo… been a while. Nearly finished the next project, have created a sound file for London Underground battery locomotives for Loksound V5 decoders, a popular Harrow/Radley models kit build. Genuine sounds, recorded from L44. Still needs some tweaking but its nearly there! The Tenshodo motor in mine is a little noisy drowning out the motor sounds a little, so may turn them up a tad, its only got a sugarcube speaker in there also. take it with a small pinch of salt, ha!
  3. Good stuff, crossing fingers. All the best
  4. Hoping for good news. if not carried on by his close fam/friends would it instead be sold on?
  5. I dont update on here anymore im afraid, too many power hungry people on here
  6. Just sounds that little bit better from how i remember my trips on western champion. bit more throaty exhaust sound ect.
  7. If its a new tooled factory sound 20 it will have a Zimo decoder. if its an old tool factory sound itl be ESU. i dont use Zimo myself but with ESU if you fit a Lokpilot 5 for the non sound loco then you can set a start off delay which works well. all you do is keep tweaking it and then put both locos on the track either on the same address or consisted but a couple feet apart to test until you are happy. Same with active breaking & accel/decel rates ect
  8. Adjusting the min\max sound slot speed a couple percent helps this a lot
  9. Dont sound any different at all, afterall its the tunnel that causes the echo’s ect not the train lol
  10. Clicky click pop..
  11. Can defo hear the guard sounds, just depends where you are sat in the train… One bell for LT, or 2 beeps after conversion for isle of wight
  12. Gotta say i love the bus red livery, really pops compared to the standard LT red. Il just have to get round to fitting lights in this one too now. in my other i have fully selectable headcode lights and tails, my Underground Sound file has all the lighting built in ready for people to add their own, ive got a how to vid filmed for it, just been waiting on something else first before releasing, so hopefully can help some of you get yours sorted shortly.
  13. Would be cool but i guess the trouble is its not what people would generally think of with an underground train so it wouldnt have the same RTR appeal as your more ‘normal’ stuff. gotta get the most out of the tooling investment as poss with variations and other things it could run with. I just hope the ‘38 helps prove to manufacturers that there is a decent market for it all and more can be justified :-)
  14. If i was to put my money on the next RTR LU stock after the 62 turns up, id say it would be D78 (sadly as id love an A60 ha) Since the 230/484s have come about its a much more appealing risk to take
  15. Yes mate they are full brass. I think they are very smart. Likely would have sold well. yes the earlier 3d prints are quite grainy, the 73 and 09 stock had this issue. The newer stuff thats done through Imaterialise is better. With some elbow grease they can turn out with a decent finish though, but youll always have layer lines to battle with somewhere or other. the more time you spend the better the end result i guess!
  16. John is a good friend of mine, Metromodels is still ticking along although the core of it was motorising old EFE models which will now have died down a lot. John has the only standard stock cars that were produced in his collection, im sure he wont mind me sharing a couple photos. they do look very smart so its a shame with the factory issues, it would have deffo been a level above the 92/95 stock that were done detail wise.
  17. Yeah i agree with you there, thats one of the bits i need to change, was my first go at a file so its a bit all over the place really volume wise, and as you can see in the vid at one stage, its possible to get the loco stuck with the motor sound playing while stood still if you mess with the throttle a certain way, another thing ive sorted now 🙂 I will have a think mate, its getting the recordings thats tough, but it would be cool to do for sure
  18. Thanks, im tweaking it currently as im not happy with it. the 1938 stock ive done is way more refined. southern EMU sounds like fun…. Its something ive thought about…
  19. Super pleased with the KBA’s, they will be right at home on my layout. lots of nice detail and that lovely paintwork! thanks Cav, Alex & Will, they are very much appreciated.
  20. Looking forward to receiving one of these and have another to fit with one of my underground sound files. A good friend john polley (owner of metromodels) has the only bus red one that was produced, it was a prototype livery sample produced back in the day, sadly of course it never made production! will look smart with the other version.
  21. 57s use a 56 alternator if i remember right.
  22. Haha Mylo loves watching trains move about! Was proper funny. Yeah its about time it happened, was thinking about it the past 2 years. Like most blokes i still wish it was bigger mind! Haha.
  23. Thanks, Medium Jim! I suppose the key imo has been to just make the videos for my own enjoyment, i dont really force them out ect. each to their own though, some people are on there just to play the game and fill their patreon money pot up, others do it just to keep themselves occupied. End of the day if you dont like someones content, just dont subscribe/watch them. Alternatively you could set up your own facebook group for your model railway to moan about other youtube people behind their back, as one individual seems to enjoy regularly :-) ha
