Thats a very good point! its pretty cool that they do this in america when using the big boy to load it up i think. Gets it working hard!

Diesel locos are load banked by removing the traction motor cables and instead wiring the traction output to a load bank which is pretty much a huge resistor bank and fans, i see no reason you couldnt do this with a 92 as long as the equipment could handle the huge power output

GB 92’s have DLF and ICMU isolation switches for running on the WCML. DLF is to do with frequency fluctuations in the overhead supply when in damp/icy weather. ICMU is to do with signalling interference if i remember. probs what the DB ones have finally had fitted.

Yeah you can do this, you can raise/lower the sound speed of the sound slot for the engine, i do it on 20’s and it makes a big difference. I only change them by like 2% or whatever but its enough to not make it sound odd but allow it to go out of sync to the other.

Its just the Z21 app, there is a setting i think called steering setting, if theyd set it to normal then it wouldnt cause the throttle slider to spam about. its a good app but i hate it for controlling trains, you wanna be looking at the train not where your finger is tapping so it ends up in crashes. Its good for setting routes/signals though!

And thirdly, the 378 project has progressed a lot. went for the newer livery as i like the more sleek look to it. absolute pain to paint this, but its worth it. just waiting on Charlie to design the chassis for them now as im itching to use it!

Next up i by chance nabbed a pair of 325 DMs for something to do. painted them and liked them so much that i bought the trailer/motor car to match ive got to put the pantograph on there, weather/glaze and then sort a motor out. will likely use Bachmann 158 parts.

I have had a CMAC filled week! Thought id show them here. first off i finally cracked on with the 180. This used a modded voyager chassis, bodyshells needed some trimming to fit. Obvs need weathering/glazing still.

Sounds mega that! Wow! Theyve gone a bit mad on it eh. could easily be put on a decoder but i dont think they would be very happy lol. Could be worth you asking them, never know.

No such thing as a good class 20 sound file in my opinion haha. all of them are flawed somehow

Had a play with one recently, aside from an iffy pan looks a nice model. the sound irks me though, the converters ect shouldnt start up every time you start moving and stop when you come to a stand, they should be running constantly while the loco is powered up. There also dont seem to be any rheostatic braking fan sounds which should coincide with the loco braking unless ive missed that, aswell as the frequency changes of the traction system when pulling away. wonder if this will be updated in future. awfully tempted to order 92010 and renumber to 23 anyhow, just hope there will be a re-release of the coaches as the ebay prices are just silly!

Wouldnt suprise me! they also seem to grind/vibrate a bit when moving off, though not something i can really replicate although the Tenshodo motors seem to try to! Ha
