  1. Looks like a 20ft container that's been cut in half to make a 10 footer.
  2. 2 more vans, both of western origin, have seen progress made with weathering complete on the bodies, only requiring transfers now. First a Hornby V23 ventilated van, in a clean but worn condition. This will be lettered as a van just prior to being taken out of revenue service. Crewe and Ely seemed appropriately distant from the north west coast. A Dapol cattle van has been finished in a similar condition. Both will need tiebars and vacuum equipment added before the chassis can be painted, and the cattle wagon will get a one journey only card to represent a van being moved to it's new home in internal use. Cheers
  3. 170410 rolls into the mist north of Stonehaven while carrying out RILA surveying across east Scotland (the mast was on the front of the unit). It was running about 12 late at this point, so on a day when there was virtually no scotrail paths being used, it actually managed to delay the LNER 800 following behind. The unusual schedule for anyone interested: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:M61105/2021-07-04/detailed#allox_id=0
  4. It would have been mainly PRA covered wagons and later ICA silver bullets on the whl traffic. The earlier tiger PBA hoppers may have made it there (they certainly got to Markinch) but the nacco JIAs are a later build.
  5. I've definitely seen at least one image of couple of wooden highfits loaded with scrap in the late 60s, but as mentioned above it would not have been a common sight. Wooden 5 planks lasted until the mid 70s in revenue service, and even longer in engineers use.
  6. (Flickr link) The photo in the articles looks like one of the 80ft container wagons used in mainland europe.
  7. Something a little different for a mk5. On a stock transfer between Aberdeen and Polamdie during the current strike.
  8. Yep https://www.Bachmann.co.uk/product/class-410-4-bep-4-car-emu-7010-br-blue-and-grey/31-491 Although it's only (!) 425 here https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/56745/31-490-Bachmann-4-BEP-4-Car-EMU-Set-number-7005-BR-Green
  9. Looks like test runs have now begun. https://www.railscot.co.uk/img/77/92/ (Flickr link - not mine)
  10. (Flickr link) Here's one of the hoppers in that pack - although faded the cradle looks pretty orange to me.
  11. Does anyone have information about the tank wagon third in this Leith-Millerhill train in the following image? https://www.railscot.co.uk/img/36/703/ Apart from the black star at the bottom right corner, the appears to be a small logo (possibly ICI) on the left hand side, but no other branding. Thanks
  12. (Flickr link-click for info) Some still in use here in late 2009. (Flickr link) And here in 2010 working from Hope earles sidings.
  13. Cavalex are doing that livery in their first run, hence why accurascale are holding off?
  14. The distillers tta was shelved unfortunately.
  15. 2/6/21 73971 leaving Glenury Viaduct working an Edinburgh-Aberdeen clayhills run. Not sure of the purpose of this working as it arrives in Edinburgh from Aberdeen in the morning and sits for a couple of hours before returning north. 66755 that was on this run last week due to a lack of available 73s would have made a nicer shot here I think.
  16. Rare to see the dangerous when wet and spontaneously combustible hazchem diamonds on a wagon too.
  17. The photo of the ATO tank in the siding adjacent to the goods shed must have been taken before 2007, when the yard at Guild street finally closed. Looking at the state of it, it probably was awaiting scrapping, possibly being moved to a siding where road access was easier.
  18. Excellent news guys. Certainly up for some of them. I'm surprised that these (and other chemical tanks) haven't been picked off before tbh. (Flickr link)
  19. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-57187472 Doubt it, although the name may have more issues than just with GBRailfreight.
  20. Looks similar (or the same) as the one modelled by Hywel Thomas here: http://www.emgauge70s.co.uk/model_omwb96.html
  21. Some urban explorers don't show the journey to the location or the outside of the building to prevent people from identifying the locations and causing damage.
  22. That makes sense - Corkickle had two boxes in very close proximity.
  23. Lovely image. A rare high cube 20ft container at the front too.
