  1. Is this the same as Hornby released a while ago? https://www.hattons.co.uk/35907/hornby_r4473_observation_car_sc281_in_br_maroon/stockdetail
  2. Seems odd these haven't yet broken cover anywhere else.
  3. It's a very good point (pardon the pun) that adding in these additional items will drive sales of the more mundane elements that are already there. For example, if you absolutely must use a curved point in one or two locations then it opens up the possibility of buying many more LH/RH points and plain track. I would hope that the current range is now sufficient to generate reasonable sales numbers for them to have the confidence to expand this out fully.
  4. On layouts, where I have specifically asked about using peco bullhead track. Also on stands as well.
  5. All of these would be very welcome. I'm noticing the range is appearing more on the exhibition circuit recently.
  6. ...moving onto happier things. The second batch of Thane of Fife has now arrived https://uk.Hornby.com/products/lner-p2-class-2-8-2-2005-thane-fife-era-3-r30130
  7. I’d suggest this might be something that Accurascale look into doing across future loco runs (not just 37) in terms of switching the tail lights on when in light engine mode. Granted you may end up with people saying my tail lights aren’t working.
  8. That's it. The market is increasingly demanding realistic rakes and loco's to match hence why the likes of Accurascale are doing well. Hornby would do well to learn and pick 'trains' to produce over a couple of years to avoid the sell-offs. By the same token so could Bachmann with the TSO's.
  9. I emailed Simon about this and he wasn’t too keen saying the K1 hadn’t sold well but one of the senior development guys on the stand at Model Rail Scotland thought it was a great shout based on the J36 green livery being popular.
  10. Real shame it was announced just a bit too late for me to commit to it having jut travelled that direction this past weekend but a very nice gesture all the same.
  11. Yes - I'd agree with the 37 future runs. More was meaning that it's not best practice to have stuff break out from a PCB at one end only to trail wires back on top of the board cluttering up the central area if they are designing the boards for the class 40 and so on :P
  12. Part of my feedback on here when I received my 37027 was that I felt a better design is to have the wires routed more effectively or to use the PCB for the wires with the sockets the other side. Obviously, doubt they'll be changing the PCB just for that but something for them to bear in mind in future releases.
  13. I found with 37027 I had to reposition the tape, which gave some more play with the wires. I generally routed the wires round one side of the speaker. Some of the wires were a bit tight so had to go in board of one of the corners of the clips. I would take photos but honestly did find them a slight faff to fit so don't won't to take them out. I also found using some tweezers to bend the legs of the clips slightly (only once in position) to make them clip into place a bit easier worked. Removing the decoder also helped.
  14. Had my decoder back and all is now working (flange squeal) and I don't have the issue with the desk lights. Anyone know how to relock the chip to these settings if I were to need to CV8 in the future?
  15. Completely agree - these wagons would be so useful. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here but Scottish modelling has so much potential with loco hauled stock and trains being manageably short in 4mm for a lot of people. I therefore maintain that Scottish will sell.

I would imagine a new model would only make sense when the new build one is completed.
  17. The thing with the class 08/09 is there are some USP’s to go at. Lighting / automated uncouplers (could be specced as tension lock / Kadee / magnetic at purchase with aftermarket exchangeable modules for example) / superior sound package / not produced to date detail variants. I’m not sure I see the same appeal with the class 47 right now.
  18. Sent Hornby an email about the ETA on the next batch of 2005 as there wasn't anything online. "end of September"
  19. I also wouldn't rule out another small run either. They are/were very popular with the modern enthusiast and could be seen behind more than just a 68 on their many ECS moves.
  20. Surely you're going to need to start announcing this stuff soon! Presume a loco/unit at GETS and Warley each?
  21. You've also got the 10% multibuy discount and credits if you order directly too, review bonus etc. They very quickly become a £20 a pop wagon.
  22. I'm sure these will sell well. Glad to see the price is still £75 for the triple pack too and they got everywhere!
