  1. Run down and eccentric ? Many of us on here fit that description....
  2. Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy of Company 'B' by The Andrews Sisters Oh dear - my age is showing again
  3. Completely forgot that the loss of AVG was caused by having to reset the laptop, twice, to a previous restore point. Still, good practice for the next time, I suppose
  4. Strange that internet connectivity (BT Unlimited) should be one of my problems as well; even stranger that the in-built Atheros wireless network adaptor has started working again, and the plug-in N*t***r WPS - so reliable before - is constantly failing. They are obviously speaking to one another since unplugging the non-connected N*t**** device prompts a warning that the internet connectivity has been lost ! Other problems included the AVG Internet Security and their Pc Tune-up which both had to be reloaded twice; many thanks to the guys in Mumbai. However matters have now settled down; he said confidently
  5. Awful joke from Radio Lincolnshire this morning:- 'Hope you all enjoy 90s music today 'cos it's Wet, Wet, Wet ...' Groan ! Actually the sun is very warm....okay so you can't see it
  6. It is beginning to look a lot like the former pithead railways of the North East of England with their small boxcab electrics (and the catenary) leaning over at impossible angles on what seemed to be track canted at nearly 45o
  7. Not a new concept !! At Elland Road the Owner is the Manager as well .....
  8. It is a stunning layout and I, too, wish Mike well. I hope the layout finds a home, although I appreciate that this may be far from its present location.

He might at least have put all the drivers on the rails - at least in the first picture
  11. Agreed. Our Homebase closed last year and all we have in Bostonia is Wickes, dedicated to the trades, and B&Q, seemingly dedicated to the wealthy. Maybe that just reflects the area. Never mind, bigger things to worry about; the latest proposal is to close all public toilets. Older people - you have been warned !!
  12. We know a song about that, don't we 'Promise I made, starting to fade .................' Not too subtle I hope !

I think this reflects the problems that lie in deciding which category to use .... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZS-OR-ZT-SILVER-GREY-WING-MIRROR-COVER-RIGHT-HAND-/121843356988?hash=item1c5e6e153c:g:srwAAOSwjVVVrLk2

I get my Swiss ones from ModellbahnShop Lippe for about £85, loaded and post included.
  17. Agreed. The past for Man U has been buying good players simply to avoid other clubs getting them; yes, they are in competition and through the last 20+ years, the policy has worked. Now they need a different attitude towards opponents. Oh and Angel Di Maria seems to be thriving at Paris Saint-Germain but then he now has a roving commission, and despite having the 'King of Sweden' up front, they are a team !
  18. So Bournemouth beat Man United 2-1 with the winning goal scored by Josh King, a former Utd player..... And another former Man U player, Javier Hernandez, scores a hat-trick for his new club in Germany..... Is there a moral to this tale ?

Modelling in '0m' I generally cast an eye over the 'rare gauges' section....but this EM model locomotive has me baffled..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EM-/221963889580?hash=item33ae142bac:g:x0YAAOSw8-tWZ94F Maybe the seller had the camera phone on 'selfie' ? If so, where is the seller ?

  21. Yes, accuracy is a wonderful thing (catenary, etc..) but don't forget, please, that you are supposed to be having fun !!
  22. Yes, indeed, john c, in Switzerland as in France, the left-hand rule is prevalent, except of course in the region of Alsace-Lorraine, formerly part of - shall we call it - the former German empire !! When the Channel Tunnel was finally started, people used to ask if the trains would have to cross over, mid-tunnel.
  23. As Tommy Trinder might have said, 'You've got trains ? You lucky people !'
  24. This Neil Redfearn bloke keeps turning up as the opposition's manager. Today we lost 1-0 at QPR, last time 0-1 at home to Rotherham. Steve Bruce better be worried
  25. Last week the Prime Minister addressed something called the CBI. In Mandarin or Cantonese ? Or perhaps one of the other six dialects ?
