  1. Jeez. They are not set up like Hattons et al, they are a small concern. And at the end of the day, it is a model, not an aid shipment for the Philipines. Lighten up. It will arrive in due course
  2. A OO gauge Class 40. If you start now, you should just pip Bachmann to the shops.
  3. If you read the instructions that come with the loco, there is a section on fitting sound including the part number for recommended bass speaker that the chassis has been designed to receive

This is one of those subjects done to death on this site, and a simple search using the search facility will produce many threads on the subject including this one http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/39842-suitable-adhesive-for-etched-nameplates/ What I will add is superglue is very unforgiving if you get it wrong. Varnish on the other hand allows you to position accurately and allows you plenty of work time, and any overspill/ mess can easily be cleaned off with a cotton bud and thinners. Satin varnish blends in very well with most factory finishes.
  10. Velux window going in. Soon the man cave will be ready for habitation...

    Dapol 'Western'

Hi Trent, not sure if it is Enhanced or reflex, it came from DCC supplies , the part no is mentioned in the instructions of the western , and Dapol have provided a mount specifically for this speaker. Soldering skills required if changing the speaker supplied by howes.

    Dapol 'Western'

Yep, I fitted Howes sound chip and a Bass speaker ( part no mentioned in Westerns instructions) from DCC supplies. Some soldering skills needed if upgrading speaker. Sounds wonderful.

    Dapol Class 22

Well, with the amount of problems you have had, it would seem your control system and Dapol loco's are not liking each other. Personally I would have stopped using Dapol loco's with my system after 2 or 3 failures, and had my controller & power supply checked out, if it had happened to me. Nobody else is reporting a similar amount of failures. My 3 Dapol loco's are fine using a Bachmann Dynamis.
  25. I used to carve off the nose handrails and add ones fashioned from 0.45 ns wire. Made a huge improvement, easier to paint too.
