  1. I'm going to be constructing a Royal Mail trans-shipment/parcels depot, but not being an expert on metal cladding I'm not sure which style of sheeting is appropriate. It will have been built in the mid 60's so I'd like to get the material right, I'm imagining a structure like the Oldham and/or New England type of thing. Any advice on the correct type and a supplier would be much appreciated, as also would be any pictures, although I've Googled and got a few, I don't know if there any hidden in a dark corner! TIA. Mike.
  2. In the middle of the countryside there's not really much else you can do really, other than create an imaginary cutting, but that might look a bit silly. Mike.
  3. I wasn't criticising you by the way. Mike.
  4. Are these they? https://www.isinglass-models.co.uk/3d-model-railway-shop#!/~/product/id=39943&prid=217&ctid=13&tp=pv Mike.
  5. Being the man in my house, I once did a Rover P6 battery box cover and various other parts, covers and bits and bobs in "our" dishwasher, it was pure coincidence that SWMBO was out shopping all day of course. Mike.
  6. It would nearly be cheaper for you to come and fetch it wouldn't it?!! Mike.
  7. I think the best solution for modellers is to contact the manufacturers, not necessarily just Accurascale, and confirm exactly the time and date they would like their loco's livery to be in, I'm sure they will love the challenge of researching the correct details to satisfy a myriad of requests, heaven forbid that railway modellers actually do any modelling eh? Mike.
  8. Well, at least the dishwasher will be useful for cleaning the knife the good Lady B has deposited in Lord Phils back! Mike.
  9. Looks like we need a Facebook madness thread? Mike.
  10. I have, as have a few others, but, this could be a bit tricky; "EM GAUGE for 2 Rail Operation on 18.5mm wide track." I think most of us model to 18.2mm! Mike.
  11. Perhaps the seller is having a clear out? Mike.
  12. A toilet roll core works out considerably cheaper. Mike.
  13. Converting from RH drive to LH drive headlamps. Mike.
  14. Good job on the hoppers Neil, they certainly are a bit of a challenge! Mike.
  15. Having got shafted when I purchased the original batch I then went over to Chivers for the vac fitted variety. I converted 1 AS wagon to proper wheels, but life's too short, and it didn't look very good having undersized brake shoes, so on the others I just pulled out the original wheels to EM as a short term expedient, I'll look at options to do them properly at some time in the future, probably etched brass replacement brake gear. Mike.
  16. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yet. Mike.
  17. Anything is better than climbing the convoluted staircase! Mike.
  18. In that case, very carefully! But seriously, I strip decoder thin wires with my teeth, I don't let anything, knife or cutters, with a sharp edge anywhere near the cable. Mike.
  19. Merrymakers and the like weren't renowned for their obvious directness, but, having said that it would have been quite a scenic route. Derby area LE codes were 0Fxx so it could be mis-wound? Mike.
