Funny how an icon that was supposed to have been swept away a few decades ago as a reminder of the bad old days of british railway travelling is now the go to sign.
What goes around comes around s'pose.

Finding Titanic Plum Porter at my local Lidl for 1.49 euros a bottle.
Let joy be unconfined.

Having relieved them of half of their stock, considering a second plundering visit to mop up the remnants!
I don't think those of us outwith the UK can be too worried. I've got grey, maroon and blue from the local Chinese supermercado to try as equivalent BR colours, if not, it's Vallejo or Tamiya non railway colours from my nearest modelshop. Even when the "correct" colours are available, as you say, with weathering they turn out completely different.
Pragmatism rules.

255 has arrived on the Costa, collected this morning from Correos.
An excellent issue once again, wagonry and industrialness, what more can you ask for?, mmmm, lovely.

Right, that's that sorted then.
In future only layouts with hydraulic rams as baseboard supports with the facility for the viewer to dial in their preferred height will be allowed.
Alternatively, layouts of common heights will be grouped together behind screens and punters will pay a reduced charge to see the ones which suit their stature.

, and, no, I am not joking, what a spurious complaint to make.
It's not necessarily just what we can tolerate, one has to be be pragmatic about what one, (if it's your own layout), can build and operate.
It would pee me off if I'd gone to all the trouble of building a "finescale" layout with all of the inherent perfection that is assumed to go with it, and then found it didn't operate at all well, not that this is purely reserved for such layouts. Enjoyment is obtained from all facets of the hobby.

He did give the eagle a fighting chance by standing in a big orange square and wearing an orange tee shirt.
TBH, I spotted the square before the eagle did!
