  1. Which of course is illegal. And I don't just mean against ebay rules I MEAN illegal.
  2. Welsh Highland railway is Right Hand running.
  3. Correct, in the UK normal sockets do not switch the neutral. The ones that come to mind that do are cooker switch units and electric shower switches.
  4. RCD tripping has little to do with "drawing power". There is a leakage to earth (more properly called the CPC, Circuit Protective Conductor) somewhere - and I suspect it's live to earth rather than neutral to earth. If it were Neutral to Earth disconnecting the MCB wouldn't take the problem away. If you can you should disconnect each MCB on the RCD protected circuits and see if you can identify which circuit is causing the circuit to trip. However the proper way is to measure the resistance of each circuit to earth. For that it sounds like you need an electrician to do that.
  5. SMP well known source of RCD tripping. You just needed a new power supply to the Laptop.
  6. Blue sheets are simply extruded polystyrene foam made by DuPont, the pink sheets were made by someone else. Same material. Kingspan material may not be expanded polystyrene depending on the product.
  7. Getting back to HS2. Reality is that if Boris wants (needs more like) to get the country moving again then building HS2 is about his only option.
  8. Correct 11 locks 9 either way but 9 reversed locks 12 normal
  9. Working from the signal diagram then for a goods train arriving and requiring to be put into the yard I would expect the following: Train arrives platform line. engine runs round and waits rear of 12. Road set - engine to train rear - coupled up and train pulled to rear of 12/10. Road set 8 & 9 reversed and 10 reversed allowing train to be propelled into yard. This must be so because 12 is locked by 9/11 reversed.
  10. But the signal diagram shows them to be co-located - why doesn't the diagram accord with the photo?
  11. A few here: https://pendonmuseum.com/about/madder-valley-railway.php
  12. These days every phone call I receive is treated as a scam call - even the local vicar has to prove himself!
  13. Put them into a box with a Neutradol ball for a week.
  14. Precision Paints do Terracotta, Light red brick and dark red brick. Terracotta is typically good for pressed bricks that were used for GWR station buildings.
  15. The polarity is set by how you wired it up not its "Normal Lay".
  16. The MERG steady state accessory decoder (kit 53) is designed for Tortoise motors - it costs £13.
  17. First4magnets: https://www.first4magnets.com/
  18. It is not good to run LEDs from a transformer as they don't really like AC. You should run them from a DC source such as a switched mode power supply. Running the LEDs from a single resistor is also not good as different coloured LEDs require different currents, so your light intensity will vary greatly between LEDs.
  19. It's as it says - it's tax paid on account. If you are using the online tax submission on HMRC web site then it should calculate it for you. In essence HMRC assume that you will earn next year what you earned this year and therefore you pay half that assessment now and the other half later on (can't remember the dates). You don't really need an accountant to do that. If you know that you will not earn as much next year (retiring etc) you can apply to not pay the "on account" - form on HMRC web site. I assume you are accessing HMRC through the government gateway.
  20. Emery paper wrapped around a cocktail stick. Twiddle until axle fits.
