  1. I went yesterday and arrived just after 10:00am the queue for people to purchase tickets was long. I had purchased my on line so I was able to get in quickly and little fuss, I just had to register my car for parking. Which was free, but there was limited information say it was free on the day. There was some great layouts "Making tracks V. 1,2,3 was interesting to watch. "The Spirit of Shap" was very atmospheric and a pleasure to watch. As for "Ranelagh Bridge" was great, again atmospheric and some interesting prospective modelling. There was great trade support as well but I was still unable to find a DC controller for a "O" gauge project I have rattling around me head. I didn't spend much on the day, but it was nice to get out and about and see some friends that I have not seen since that time two years ago. Terry.
  2. I have ordered the book and looking forward to reading it when it arrives. Terry.
  3. If I remember the wagons with out tie bars are fitted with 8 brake blocks, and the wagon with tie bars had "Morton bake gear with was 4 brake blocks. Terry.
  4. This has just landed in MY Facebook page. "We are deeply saddened by the passing of David McCallum and privileged that CBS was his home for so many years. David was a gifted actor and author, and beloved by many around the world. He led an incredible life, and his legacy will forever live on through his family and the countless hours on film and television that will never go away. We will miss his warmth and endearing sense of humour that lit up any room or soundstage he stepped onto, as well as the brilliant stories he often shared from a life well-lived. Our hearts go out to his wife Katherine and his entire family, and all those who knew and loved David." A great actor who will be much missed by the people that worked with him. Terry.
  5. Just in case the parcels are left on the door step or other safe places and it is raining. Terry.
  6. Mine arrived about 30 minutes ago, three cosmetic problems. The lance valve was loose as mentioned early in this thread but a small drop of super glue corrected that problem. The right hand front step was unstuck, but super glue corrected that as well. The right hand hand rail at the front had the use of to much glue on the stand off's on the boiler. I can live with the defects as I feel it would be to much hassle to send it back with so small defects Terry
  7. I have just paid the balance for my one tonight. Terry.
  8. It is to hot for as I am struggling with the heat.

  9. I totally agree it is a safety thing but to relies on look outs to see the light of a train travelling at speed you have to be on top of there game.Yellow warning pane;ls are a good thing and is a very British idea.
  10. If that was a early Defender it would have freed itself, the new version of the Defender is not designed to take the rough and tumble off-roading. Terry

  13. I went to the Midland Railway centre in 20011. And I spotted this cab mock up on the site, and it has been driving me mad for all this time. I think that it was a test cab front that was put on the class 86/87 as a experiment for the H.S.T at the time of development. I am happy that I have figured out what it is. Terry.
  14. The only "Austerity" I would like is the 2-10-0 version. PLEASE. Terry.
  15. The railways taken back into re nationalised so the profits that are made are put back into improving the net work and not into shareholders pockets. And more freight removed from the roads. And lines that where closed to be reopened and connected passenger services, bus 🚌 etc etc.

  18. Closure of ticket office is just another way of increasing the shareholders payments. This idea needs to be stopped going by the lack of investment the TOC have put back into the railway. Terry

  20. I have just watched this program, and I found very interesting, particle regarding the profits are going. I have always said that privatistion was a bad idea to start with, and how true the out come and the current state of the railways today. Time to bring the industry back under government control and to stop the flow of money going over seas. Terry
