  6. How long did the brake pads last.
  7. I doubt it as the majority of the locomotives have been scrapped and the company's that made the aforementioned loco's it was not a viable to keep spares that are not required, unless they do one off's for the preserved loco's that are in service on preserved lines. I could be wrong. Terry

  10. I recently purchased a copy of "Diesel Dawn" number 6 "Brush Type 2s, D5500-5699, D5800 D5862, By Gavin Glenister. And on page 56 there is a photograph of D5835 in Green with SYP, which had a engine rated at 2000HP as it has a different configuration of grills fitted to allow more fresh air into the engine compartment. The photograph says it was taken in York while the locomotive was undergoing static testing in April 1962. ( I was Born that year). I also have "Looking Back at Class 31 Locomotive" by "Kevin Derrick" which is another great reference book to have in one's library. On page 72 there is a photography of D5553 in green with SYP, but fitted with " experimental flashing lights". The photograph was taken 1967 but it dose not say where it was taken. I have posted the photographs as I did not want to get in trouble. Terry.
  11. That is a tidy car, If i purchased that car with the the damage to the bumper and body work would trigger my OCD and would be the first thing done. But otherwise it looks a useable car with add rear end protection device fitted. Terry.
  12. I think it could be from a Renault 21, 25 as the three gauges in the centre are Renault in design . Terry.
  13. I think that it is a co-acting home signal, as the signal arm can be sited by the drivers over the bridge that is in the rear of the. Which region are you modelling, and the location that you are modelling. Terry.
  14. Unfortunately I think that most modern rolling stock do not have locks on corridor connections don't have locks on them, any I can not see TOC's going to the expense of fitting locks, as most TOC's are interested in running trains for profit and that means putting bums on seats.
  15. I do not think that will work as H&S would have something to say about. Any High value letters or parcels would need a secure area where the public has no access to them. As when I was a conductor guard I alway made sure that the guards compartment was locked so no one could get in.
  16. And open up the Royal Mail by rail network in London. Terry.
  17. The first thing that RM should do is put the delivery officers back on to bicycles to do away with the many delivery diesel/petrol vans that do less than 2 miles in a day. Reinstate sorting of mail on trains. Terry
