    Formula 1 2023

I used to be a director of a trade association, it came with being the chair of their technical committee. I wasn't an employee nor was there any renumeration.
  2. This site may be of help with both of your questions https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/ although it may take some searching through the earlier years. If you find a train formation containing the type of coach you are looking for then clicking the spyglass under that coach will give a list of other trains that year that contain the same type. e.g. https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak.php?zeme=CSD&cislo=25&rok=1971 https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/razeni.php?rok=1971&vuz=ČSD+BRa+t*&najit=Hledat My guess is that you could run them with Type Y coaches. There is a wealth of information on vagonWEB but it may take some finding. Good luck. Edit: Found this formation from 1975/6, three of the older coaches, all seconds. The rest of the train are Type Y and include firsts: https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak.php?zeme=CSD&kategorie=R&cislo=502&nazev=&rok=1976
  3. The Triang EE Type 3 (class 37) isn't bad with a bit of work. I did this one forty years ago (was it really that long ago?). Lima Deltic bogies, new windscreens and fuel tanks plus big buffers.
  4. I found the easiest way to lower these was to push the pins out from inside using a small drill, then open the holes slightly larger to allow the bar to sit flush and fix with a small amount of solvent applied from inside.
  5. Most, if not all, committee members don't get paid and even expenses are rare.
  6. So only 40 years after taking the photo I've found out what it was doing there.
  7. D5147 to 50 had boiler tanks but the 25/0s didn't. Enlarging the photo, l don't think this loco has them which would make it a 25/0.
  8. That price label brings back memories, Everybody's Hobbies, Ipswich. Originally in St. Nicholas St, they later moved to Great Colman St.
  9. Looking at photos online, the Modelzone version is the old tooling, the latest releases are completely different to a much better standard, similar to the 24/1 with headcode box. The old tooling was available with both 8 and 21 pin dcc sockets, I have both and from memory only the 21 pin one has lights.
  10. Scograil are offering the Trix version for 5p under if you don't use Paypal: https://www.scograil.co.uk/trix-22886-ho-gauge-br-a3-60103-flying-scotsman-x28dccsoundx29-29763-p.asp A bit more for the Marklin one: https://www.scograil.co.uk/maerklin-39968-ho--gauge-br-a3-60103-flying-scotsman-x28acsoundx29-29765-p.asp
  11. There seems to be enough interest to make MTB think there is a worthwhile market: https://mtb-model.com/pages/product_vypis.php?meritko=TT
  12. The class 302 parcels sets were regulars to Norwich, not sure when they were converted, possibly late 80s.
  13. That takes me back, I had a summer job there in 1977 testing barley in the lab for pre-germination
  14. I bought a second hand as new condition Scotrail branded Express livery one from Hattons last week for £82.
  15. The OP was asking about the far coach, not the Pullman
  16. Is it one of the 1957 prototypes? Looking closer, I think its an early Mk2 FK. The apparent solebar looks like a shadow.
  17. I have a vague recollection of a green version of the Bournemouth blue being used on early mk2s that isn't shown there. I think it was one of the 48 seat SOs that I associate it with. Am I remembering correctly?
  18. Would it be this one? http://www.hornbyguide.com/item_details.asp?itemid=202 https://www.hattons.co.uk/69890/hornby_r017_ln_01_flat_wagon_with_freightliner_pre_owned_like_new/stockdetail
  19. This has details of the RR coaches used on the North Wales coast in 1999/2000: http://www.nwrail.org.uk/nwcoach.htm The text says these were based at Edge Hill and also used on other RR North West services, including to Barrow.
  20. Only two Class 121 trailers were fitted with gangways, 54287 and 54289, both in 1988. A diagram for a gangway fitted 122 trailer was issued but there doesn't appear to be any evidence any were fitted. As Happy Hippo says, they were done so they could be run with gangwayed power cars. No 54287 spent some time running with the unique Class 101 DMBC no 53155 converted from a DMBS. More info here: https://www.railcar.co.uk/type/class-121/
  21. Looks like Athearn to me. I've got a similar six axle chassis in the loft somewhere. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/early-vintage-athearn-train-engine-1724588751
  22. A 104 in a western region set at Didcot in 1968? Maybe when they were transferred to the Trans Pennines. Also the Railcar link is to a 1968 photo at Cardiff Central. The door and window layout in that do not match a 104.
