  1. The Triang EE Type 3 (class 37) isn't bad with a bit of work. I did this one forty years ago (was it really that long ago?). Lima Deltic bogies, new windscreens and fuel tanks plus big buffers.
  2. I found the easiest way to lower these was to push the pins out from inside using a small drill, then open the holes slightly larger to allow the bar to sit flush and fix with a small amount of solvent applied from inside.

  5. D5147 to 50 had boiler tanks but the 25/0s didn't. Enlarging the photo, l don't think this loco has them which would make it a 25/0.

  7. Looking at photos online, the Modelzone version is the old tooling, the latest releases are completely different to a much better standard, similar to the 24/1 with headcode box. The old tooling was available with both 8 and 21 pin dcc sockets, I have both and from memory only the 21 pin one has lights.

  14. Is it one of the 1957 prototypes? Looking closer, I think its an early Mk2 FK. The apparent solebar looks like a shadow.
  15. I have a vague recollection of a green version of the Bournemouth blue being used on early mk2s that isn't shown there. I think it was one of the 48 seat SOs that I associate it with. Am I remembering correctly?

  17. This has details of the RR coaches used on the North Wales coast in 1999/2000: http://www.nwrail.org.uk/nwcoach.htm The text says these were based at Edge Hill and also used on other RR North West services, including to Barrow.
  18. Only two Class 121 trailers were fitted with gangways, 54287 and 54289, both in 1988. A diagram for a gangway fitted 122 trailer was issued but there doesn't appear to be any evidence any were fitted. As Happy Hippo says, they were done so they could be run with gangwayed power cars.   20. A 104 in a western region set at Didcot in 1968? Maybe when they were transferred to the Trans Pennines. Also the Railcar link is to a 1968 photo at Cardiff Central. The door and window layout in that do not match a 104.
