  1. Hello Avonside, Sorry to be a nag but did you get the personal e-mail? Gordon A
  2. Branchlines (Westbury) do an etched chassis conversion for the old Airfix City of Truro.
  3. Hello Mike, All three gauges will be catered for with their specific spacers. As the running plate sits flush with the inside face of the frames EM and P4 builders will have to trim a small amount of the inside faces. Gordon
  4. Do I see that Enterprise fitted for vacuum braked stock?
  5. Have you considered making your layout an L or T shape with the station platform / buildings at the end and the off scene to the right?
  6. Is there any chance we can get back on to the excellent model of Parkend Marsh Sidings?
  7. My thoughts are that your comment in the footer of your posts applies to you in this post. My upbringing included the mantra "if you can't find any thing constructive to say then keep it shut".
  8. Hello Nigel, thank you for showing us the photographs of the progress of Florence No 2. She looks pretty smart.

The information I am after is some detailed pictures of her chimney and a dimensioned sketch please. That would be really helpful.

I hope her restoration continues to your satisfaction.

I am an occasional visitor to Foxfield so hope to come down to see her in steam in the near future.

  9. Thank you for posting your picture. It shows a rear lamp bracket on the back of the cab. Gordon A
  10. Yes please for one of your Fowler 0-6-0 dock tank kits please.

  11. At last, 20 months on from my initial post I am pleased to say that cad drawings for the 16" Bagnall are now being created. A pleasant day was spent at Stratford archives viewing the works drawings for the 16 inch Bagnall and selecting which ones were useful. I ended up purchasing copies of most of the drawings. I also had a very satisfying day photographing Empress which is now based at the Pontypool & Blaenavon railway. My thanks to every one there who gave me access to photograph Empress outside of their sheds. A helpful friendly bunch. The thinking at the moment is to do an etched nickel silver chassis, lower boiler, running plate, cab and bunker, with possible a 3D printed smokebox and saddle tank. Gordon A
  12. If you are a modeller why not go for the Parkside kit option?
  13. Yes please, I would be interested in a kit. Would it be too much to aske for a set of frame spacers for P4 - 15mm wide please? Gordon A
  14. That is an interesting way of carrying / loading a loco with the wheels in the air.
  15. The coupling hooks look a bit thin, but looking at your picture of your first etch did I see that you provided two layers for each hook? I am enjoying following this thread and the quality of your build. Gordon A
  16. I believe some tenders were used as water tankers in a weed killing train.
  17. Paul, "M.o.T bauxite"? I always thought that bauxite on wagons denoted vacuum braked or through piped. Could explain what the M.o.T bauxite colour scheme was about and how long it lasted. Gordon A
  18. The advantage of etched brass chassis is that you can take them apart and rebuild them a number of times, so don't bin the chassis.
  19. Yes as the grey livery indicates it is not vacuum braked. If the coupling broke there was no automatic system to stop the vehicle and let the crew know something was up.
  20. When did you last lubricate with a light oil?
  21. Sorry David - no chance. My chassis kit does have a slot for the rear body securing screw.
