  1. Lovely job John, a very happy new year to you, Alastair M
  2. A very happy birthday from me too. The layout and photos just get better. Best wishes, Alastair M
  3. Mine also. In fact I am not sure mine ever arrived, although I am quite certain I am paying it......
  4. Riders on the Branch was a favourite...... Coat, runs......
  5. 1, 2, 4 and 5 for me please, Best wishes
  6. My selection would mirror Brian's completely, so: J6, J17, J19, J20, and J67, 68, 69 for GE, J6, just because, J39 and 52 to contemporary standards. Best wishes, Alastair
  7. My vote is for 1, 2, 4, 5. I don't know much about container types currently, so will leave that to those who do. Cheers, Alastair
  8. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7,11 Speaking for myself I do enjoy building kits of wagons. I would be reluctant to buy a ready made 4 for example as the available kit is excellent and even with extras like Lanarkshire buffers, will be far cheaper than some rtr manufacturers. Best wishes, Alastair
  9. When introduced to the GC section in the mid thirties, initially for the Liverpool Harwich boat trains, B17s did not go down at all well with Gorton crews, according to E M Johnston. They replaced D11s, Directors, Gorton built and looked after and popular with most GC enginemen, which may account for some of the attitude. They were notorious for rough riding after they had been out of shops a while. It would be interesting to know how ex GE crews took to them? Best wishes, Alastair M
  10. Oh and someone mentioned the Armstrong goods.... No good for Rob, but pre '30s modellers would love that. Alastair
  11. The Airfix/Dapol version is, I think I am correct in saying, roughly forty years old. I am sure Dapol still sell plenty, but if you want something that takes into account advances in manufacturing and standards of accuracy, Dapol may not be for you. Given the price point, I think the Oxford version is really good value for money. Regards, Alastair M
  12. 3, 6, 8, 10, 11 for me. Regards, Alastair
  13. T26/E4 and Buckjumper, yes please. And what about a Saint for the green team? I would have to buy one under rule 1.
  14. How much do you charge for accomodation under the fiddleyard and could it accomodate a small nuclear family for a week say? A Holiday Booker
  15. I know I have commented on it before, but to my untutored eye, that mogul looks spot on, especially, as in this case, in its natural habitat. They are naturally a gloriously balanced design for my money. Top notch Rob. Alastair
  16. My votes are for 1, 2. Alastair, from the naughty step.....
  17. Gresley GE section 52' 6" stock to the correct profile would be first on my list, but Gresley 61' 6" also to the correct profile would be a winner too, so I am voting for both of those. Best wishes, Alastair
