  1. Enjoy watching the long freight trains go by on Hinksey Yard at DEMU Showcase in less than two weeks time! Expertly modelled in 2mm N gauge, Hinksey Yard is based on a real engineering yard in Oxfordshire. More details of the layout on their thread here:
  2. Yes, no problem once it's dry. Best to give it a day or so. But I have had a problem spraying it over the top of enamels when they are not 100% dry (why would you do that though, right?). Guy
  3. +1 for Tamiya fine surface primer. DMU projects looking good! Guy
  4. Thanks Charlie! Another layout to whet your appetite for Showcase... Now here's something you don't see modelled often, suburban Glasgow in the 1980s! Come along to DEMU Showcase at Sutton Coldfield in July to see the superbly modelled Wellpark presented by the Scottish Diesel and Electric Group.
  5. Oh dear, I listened to Mrs Doyle... Order placed. See you at Showcase Charlie! Guy
  6. Theres a photo in the book "East Coast Electrification" by Colin Boocock of 89001 on a rake of Mk4s in Intercity livery from 16th Feb 1990 on a Leeds service. Hope that helps! PM me if you would like to see a copy. Guy
  7. Almost the right colour for a PTA..... not! 🤣 Executive livery ordered (it ran to Whatley didn't it?). The pic shows just how good it might look in ARC mustard though.
  8. Hi Steven, So does that mean people who are already registered and subscribed when this went live should get the register and subscribe credits automatically applied? But not the order credits (as you mentioned). Thanks, Guy
  9. Another taster of one the fab layouts that will be appearing at Showcase 2022. Burnroyd Works OO Gauge by Chris Burnage and his take of a contemporary steelworks location. Another mouth watering layout to keep visitors glued to the action.
  10. Are those renders or painted samples Alex? Either way, they look superb! Thanks too for the plug for Showcase. As I understand it, there should be some interesting items from Cavalex for display at the show. Guy
  11. Hi Will, Just seen your pics of the weathered station buildings on Flickr. They look amazing! Really nice work. Guy
  12. Yeah Shane... it's all our fault for praising Hornby and doing the 'm' word. Sigh...
  13. As a Hanwell local I can report that both are currently on 4 TPH and have been for the past 18 months or so. This was up from 2TPH. Not sure if we will ever get to the promised 6 TPH at Hanwell but I live in hope! Guy
  14. DEMU (Diesel and Electric Modellers United) is the UK's only society dedicated to modelling the Diesel and Electric era. Come along to our annual show in July to see Euxton Junction - the West Coast Mainline in miniature!
  15. Please put the July 23/24th in your diary to come along and see Splott at DEMU Showcase. From Paul Spencer, one of the builders of legendary layout Farkham, the layout is a little slice of South Wales 1980s steel operations.
  16. If you've already checked the back to backs then I suspect it is that the tread width is too narrow and the wheel is unsupported over the crossing. The massive flangeway gaps of OO require wide wheel treads to compensate and keep the wheels supported using the wing rail. Try swapping out for another wheelset with wider treads. Or just go EM/P4! 😁 Guy
  17. The new Bachmann 150/2 Sprinter is £179 at the Model Centre at the moment. Seems like a very good deal with RRP at £299 and at least £50 cheaper than everywhere else right now. https://www.themodelcentre.com/32-942 Guy
  18. We are gearing up for this years show in July! Come along to Sutton Coldfield and see the final outing of John Norton and George Woodcock's masterpiece "Towcester" before it retires from the circuit. Set in the halcyon days of 1977 in BR 'banger blue'.
  19. OHLE? 😜 Very exciting news… looking forward to watching progress! Guy
  20. I read that as "Rapido Times".... oh dear.

In Dapol’s defence, I’m fairly sure that they will have got the correct Paint codes from our mutual friend who worked for O&K. What is silver other than metallic grey? I am a bit worried looking at the new painted samples that are missing the second NRN pod. But they are just paint samples. The shots out of the mould may well have had the wrong slides applied. Fingers crossed for the pods to be correct on the production samples (the pods were correct on the older, incorrectly coloured, decorated samples). The ARC mustard looks much better. Looks a bit like BS4800 10-D-44 if I’m not very much mistaken… 😆 Guy
  22. Well I’m honoured that all your networking time was well spent visiting Oldshaw instead! See you tomorrow Clive… Guy
