  1. It seems to be becoming a regular thing in the last couple of weeks having one or two Skodas parked in the south bay at Rugby during the day, next to the allocated thunderbird 57. It's nice to see! 7th Feb saw 90034 and 90035. At 0745 they had just been parked as I waited for a 350 to Coventry, and still there later that afternoon. I believe they are stabled after arriving in the early hours at Daventry off an overnight Grangemouth train. Regards Guy
  2. A very cold and frosty Banbury on Tuesday 18th January, 68013 leaves on 1H17 06.47 Stourbridge-London Marylebone. It was nice to have two loco hauled trains in short order, 68010 following on 1H22 the 07.16 off Stourbridge. Regards Guy
  3. A very cold Victoria this afternoon. End-ex on today's SE musings. 465045 with 375617 and 609. A snapshot too tempting to ignore. Regards Guy
  4. I do recall thinking in pedant mode at the time that it should have been "Two locomotives destroy buffer stops in shunting incident" but who am I to destroy "good journalism"?!
  5. Nice to see someone has removed the air pipe off the 45/46 bogie. Just in case of that run down the midland to St. Pancras with a set of coffins Regards Guy
  6. Yep. I've still got the local rag newspaper cutting in the back of one of my haulage record books! Regards Guy
  7. I fear you have done for Greta Thunberg's Christmas with these fine images of fossil fuel pornography @DaveF ! Happy Christmas and May 2022 bring many more fine images. Regards Guy
  8. Been three or four knocking around Oxford sidings in the last three weeks and saw a couple at Reading this afternoon. Personally I think they look very smart..........re-engineering with that retro look. Can we have one in blue/pearl grey please......just, because Regards Guy
  9. 10th November 66592 at Nuneaton on the 0931 Crewe-Southampton liners.....a snatched shot from the overbridge. Regards Guy
  10. Is the full circular track still available at the power station? Unclear on mapping. Cheers Guy
  11. Loving J779 David. Fantastic photo. Big engineering that.......and gone way too soon. Regards Guy
  12. Saw this particular train from the Aston - Stechford line as we travelled towards Cov, passing beneath us towards Saltley. That would have made an interesting photo.......DB 90 on the blue/grey MK2's above! Regards Guy
  13. The driver of 90036 has a chat with the little girl and her dad after we had alighted from the UK Railtours Blackpool excursion at Rugby last night. Lovely to see this interaction. Storming run from Birmingham non-stop at high speed through International and Coventry. 90024 was on the rear having taken the train to Blackpool via Stoke. Regards Guy
  14. Yes. There will be confusion and delay.......and it's not just the punters that are confused. And potentially expect far more disruption if other staffing and safety issues are not addressed correctly.... Regards Guy
  15. Barbara's new Jag isn't going to buy itself you know. With Brexit and Covid and the escalation of absolutely everything in price, prime real estate and local politics remain inextricably linked, and balls to common sense! Regards Guy
  16. Old school and new school at Cannon Street. 465048 watches on as 376027 leaves on a service and new interloper 707027 is stabled on the far platform. More musings from the SE today. Regard Guy
  17. If you've got a few hours have a lengthy delve into @DaveF photo thread.........there are some lovely pictures of the 31's on the High Dyke! Regards Guy
  18. "Baby you're the real thing" is almost a Dr.Feelgood demo. A great album and some outstanding blues guitar on there. All of this from a great shared photo. Well done chaps! Regards Guy
  19. I was thinking the same thing! I've seen well known touring bands with smaller set ups! Regards Guy
  20. Later than May 83. It's fitted with a headlight which it received sometime between Jan and April 1984 if you look for contemporary photos. I think the MK1 CCT may be an internal user looking at the faded paint and position and size of the number. I stand to be corrected! Regards Guy
  21. M24049.......was the office in the yard from the early 70's until scrapped March 2014 ish.....photo from the Flickrs courtesy Royston Morris 2005 Regards Guy
  22. 466042 leads 465119 and 465014 at Lewisham with classmates waiting on the flyover behind. More ramblings on the SE today. Note "That there rancid Shard" copyright @Southof1E top tmd Regards Guy
  23. I also got a very nice, neat handwritten thank you note inside mine, a very Victorian and very welcome touch! Top work HMRS. Regards Guy
