  1. I always think the name super express train sounds like something you'd find on a cheap plastic kids train set in a seaside gift shop. Horrible really ,just like the real train!
  2. I saw him a couple of weeks ago and your right he doesn't really change. He wears well considering he's over 60 now.
  3. I always think the Cotgrave branch looks like it's on triang high level piers. Quite rare for a branch to leave the main on a viaduct
  4. I had a few of the matchbox ones, I think they were in a set with a futuristic car transporter along with four other cars
  5. Excellent David, that Gresley was a late survivor obviously it must have been withdrawn for a considerable time by 1990 any idea what became of it?
  6. Not sure about mk1s at Sudbury, ive seen pictures of holiday trains to Clacton via this route and the had them in the formation
  7. Thanks for posting that Mike, I remember watching that and going to Heaton as a secondman to practice the operation. A shame the designers of more modern stock didn't incorporate such flexibility into their designs, mind APT-P was even easier having buffers behind the hinged nose
  8. Love the old preservation pictures David,is there any glass in the LMS coach?
  9. And if the signalman had seen it it should have been stopped, against the rules
  10. Absolutely criminal really that something such as this was never used. When you add the night stock and 92 and 37/6 fleet all this was funded or partially funded by the tax payer at the time
  11. The marina could have only been at the oldest 9 years so even back then it must have been very rusty to warrant scrapping so it may have had an accident
  12. Both 069 and 424 have just had overhauls. I think the marina is a mk3
  13. So they ran in service with no window or cut out in cab side sheet?
  14. I bet the throttle response with eight coaches is pretty awful Jim?
  15. As usual it's the original liveries that look the best . The freightliner one isn't too bad
  16. Probably an Austin America as they were sold over there. I think they also had the MG1300 http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/cars/bmc-cars/11001300/11001300-international-variations/bmc-11001300-north-american-variations/
  17. Excellent again David What were they thinking about with those livery's? When did they get the WD it must have cost quite a bit to ship it from Sweden makes you wonder why one wasn't bought from BR
  18. The worst thing about the 89 is the lights, they may have looked better if they had been horizontal
  19. That harness I bought on eBay would work on a 205, easier than trying to modify French electrics!
