One of the Things i was told during my Apprenticeship ( electrician) was that Nottingham council had the white Lights installed in Notttingham city centre as the yellow ones made the lasses look sickly and as nottingham had a higher proportion off good looking girls than any other city they wanted to ensure they looked their best on nights out

i recall a chap building an O gauge class 47 many years ago it was powered by a twin diesel engine turning a generator and radio controledIncredible - I think you've got away with those pick ups too Martin - very unobtrusive, especially once painted. I still think this model was asking for battery power though - or even better, a miniature diesel engine inside generating it's own electricity!

i must admit i have been considering splashing out on flea bay for a couple of HST's one as per LMS but in the red and gold coronation scheme
Another in GWR full line passenger scheme
and a third with a LNWR BlackBerry power car and lined out passenger cars
the other two funny shades of green companies i doubt would look any thing like.

might be a daft suggestion but instead of peeling the paint off with a salpel would not a light rub on som verry verry fine wet n dry on a mirror have worked ?

Glad to hear your health is looking to be improving . may i suggest the smallest project could be the best option as its more likely to be completed . so many of us start big layouts n loose motivation

sly the tankers will be fine if you have a full train load no one is going to spot the odd faulty as long as they are all of a similar standard. as for those who critise ................ how many of them have tried the same as you ?

Pete i looked at easitrac and being an old er chap decided to stick to the older ways lol.
this weekend im at my gf's so will be cutting out the platform from 6mm ply this will allow me to build the station up on my work bench i am using bits of the large and medium scalescene stations with some other bits from York Modelmaking ( no connection other than a satisfied customer) order placed tuesday evening delivered thursday morning .

Steve i am building the track with copper clad sleepers a straight onto the Templot drawing i was going to use easi trac but decided . to be traditional lol
and its working out easier as i can run the rails full length without joins . I will only cut them when i decide where the breaks need to be .
Michael i need to work on the fettling as its about 1.5 mm on the wide side i must admit Missy has got me striving for perfection as she is achiving in High Clere

how about making the point slip transition smooth and curve the dead end slightly
