Hornby R.2880 BR CLASS 9F 2-10-0 LOCO & TENDER. No 92221. DCC READY MIB 92221 is a loco that is reported with Mazac pest to the tender chassis The clinders look to have come off an Evening Star the cab windows are unglazed and the pipework/handrails moulded and are painted white. The cab number is 92166 and it looks to have the contact pin for a tender drive. Probably an earlier body / chassis. Maybe £12.00 not £120 Chaz
  2. I have used it (B&Q narrower copper tape) to take current from bus wires across the top of the baseboard and soldered short lengths of copper wire from the track to it. Works a treat! I will cut the Lidl tape down to narrower strips 1/2 1/3 width. Covered with ballast not noticeable but would need to underboard wire any extra wires ater ballasting!

possibly thr pizza cutter wheels have been turned down??? does that cost £80?
  9. I have just fitted a Zen Blue sleeve to a Brocklebank line. I found room on the side of the firebox and fixed it to the chassis with black tack This was hard wired as the loco was not DCC ready! I have in the past fitted to the chassis behind the motor and an even smaller chip above the gears. Much easier in the tender on later models!

Looks to me as tender pickups wired to motor in loco. However I wholly agree with the rest of the conclusions!

To me if you look at the front top of the smokebox door where it has melted he may have used normal solder not low melt. So boiling wated would probably not work?

Found this a tribute to the less than competent even the coupling rods are upside down. The chimney is the dome? The whole thing could be used as a solder rod?? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334184802461?hash=item4dcef7689d:g:4xcAAOSwcKlhbA3t Seller says bits could be unsoldered !!!!
  17. I had a bit of luck a while back and was given a centre coach for a 4CEP so I will probably use that and have a rereversible set (numbering not withstanding) Chaz
  18. But how many can understand the LBW rule?
  19. Try I slit the sheet and the sheet I slit.
  20. We have plantation blinds they are like venetian blinds, but can be opened/closed with a stick or a long ruler. They were fitted by the previous occupants and give a superb control over light levels. Fitting would be a problem with your setup!!!! Chaz
  21. You wont loose the program track option as the handset can still be connected to the old system. You merely move the handset to the old setup which can be easier as the wires don't have to be swapped to the program track. DCC concepts make a very good connector if you need a fascia mounted connector instead of plugging the powercab into the SB5. Chaz

Tri-Ang Princess Royal Princess ann loco???? modern model trains just don’t have this sort of quality??? no they don't they are a lot more accurate and detailed (not so bulletproof)
  23. From Southern Railway E-Mail Group "Towards the end of June 1964 B1 class 4-6-0 Nº61313 (from 41D Canklow) worked a pigeon special to Lewes. It was stopped with a hot box and spent some days at Eastbourne shed before being sent to Redhill for repairs on 6th July. It spent some weeks at the rear of Redhill shed, where it is shown here on 28th August 1964. Following repairs it was re-steamed at the end of September 1964 and worked passenger trains to and from Reading on 1st and 2nd October 1964. The following day Nº61313 worked a special freight, a long train of condemned wagons (mainly 4-wheel vans) from Earlswood to Streatham Common and from there it returned light to Cricklewood on the first stage of its belated return to its home depot." https://sremg.org.uk/visitor/b1.shtml
