RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted November 11, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2019 Yes. This was a quick attack with the brush, to see what would happen. I'll shave parts of the rockface more carefully and re-add the strata in a more controlled fashion.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted November 11, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2019 And I've made some changes, hopefully for the better. 6

RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted November 15, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 15, 2019 This is the inspiration for the cutting: https://goo.gl/maps/pTb5rYzX1PoiV2VT8 I'll be adding ivy, grass and ferns as well.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted November 17, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 17, 2019 I managed a bit more work on both cuttings yesterday. The r/h side inner rockface was added, with a section of stone wall. This will have a low wall added to the top, as a base for the yard fence. There is more filling and filler needed to complete the gaps.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted November 17, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 17, 2019 At the l/h end I've made a start on the rail bridge. I want to represent concrete blocks as the supports for the overbridge. My first thought was to try florist's oasis sponge, but it is too prone to damage, so used some of the insulation foam instead. Again, more filler is needed to hide the gaps.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted November 19, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 19, 2019 Yesterday morning I added filler at the base of the main rockface, to give a chance to dry during the day. It now needs painting to blend in, as does the the unballasted ground.

I know it's not prototypical, but for shuffling a few wagons around an imaginary store's sidings, it should be acceptable. No doubt I can find some 'tip & pit' transfers from somewhere as well.
