south_tyne
Hope the show has been going well Rob and that you are feeling a little better. I forgot to mention, I was only disappointed at one thing in your Model Rail article....... I noticed that you relented and had your mugshot captured for all to see! I was hoping that there would be a picture of a sheep there instead!! You have exposed yourself to the world now. I was hoping that you would keep up that international man of mystery stance behind your ovine persona! 3

Oh what great minds we must be, I was just thinking exactly the same thing. Just what Rob needs to shake him out of his lurgy and back to normal! Not. 2
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted April 6, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2019 Evening all.. Thank ewe for your concern and best wishes. Mutton conducted itself admirably with a few minor niggles towards close. I suspect this was caused by the track work getting a bit grubby. A good clean should restore order in the morning. The Radials behaved themselves, drawing much positive comment though 30584 did get a bit over tired and had to be spoken to before I left for the night. Overall, a nice day. Good bunch of punters, some knowledgeable, some not. Much nice comment, some adverse. Many familiar faces with some really good layouts there. Chris Challis's Cheddar is an all time favourite of mine and still lovely. Vintners Yard is very nice and I continue to be impressed by Amiens. All terribly nice. Rob. 9
RMweb Gold colin penfold Posted April 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2019 Adverse comment? Seriously, who has the audacity / rudeness to comment adversely on anyone's work? I hope you were able to call on the services of Grayson to deal with the upstart. 1
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted April 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2019 But how are you doing re the lurgy, old thing? A dose of bile beans no doubt did the trick?

RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted April 6, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2019 Thanks again. The dreaded lurghi is in retreat. Sore throat and mouth ulcers today but the general carp feeling has subsided considerably. I shall provide a better summary tomorrow once day two has been seen orf. All very good. RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted April 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2019 Glad to hear that the lurgy is in reverse advance, or 'consolidation' as I believe the US army calls it when they are being routed by some 3rd world communist or other. Have a good rest of the show, bwtti bach!

Rivercider
Hi Rob. It was good to catch up again, and I enjoyed the show, and seeing Mutton. There is definitely something therapeutic about a little shunting. cheers Kevin Edited April 7, 2019 by Rivercider Added text

Rob As one of the punters at Nailsea it was good to put a face to the mutterings! You may recall (but probably not in view of all your many visitors) that I have a couple of Oxford Radials, one LSWR, the other SR and with sound. Very satisfying. Couple of shots of former below.
RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted April 8, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 8, 2019 Good morning all. Yes, Barry, I recall our chat and it was good to meet up. I must say that looks rather splendid. As mentioned, should Hornby release a Maunsell lined green example, I would be unable to resist................Should they do a Drummond liveried LSWR jobbie then the family silver's gone. I must say, I had a steady stream of visitors over both days but Sunday seemed to go a lot quicker. Good to see River cider (Author of the parish) and meet up with Dunsignalling. 30583/582 were the stars of the week end. Didn't miss a beat. 30584 became a bit tired and emotional towards the end of day one and had to be spoken to. The master plan on day two was early arrival at the exhibition to allow a bit of cleaning and tweaking. Arrived at eight and received a call from Memsahib advising that I had left one's toolbox on the dining table..........I managed but lesson learnt there. The 700 replacing 30584 was disappointing and after another word and appeal to it's better side, 30584 was pressed back into service. All three Radials behaved very well. Lots of interest around the weathering of stock etc and the static grass. In the case of the later, having explained how I did it, I directed them to see Gordon Gravatt, who doing a demo next door. Overall then a really good show and good to be part of it all. I was glad not to have withdrawn through lurghi. Dosing myself up worked well enough but I was pooped last night. Even had time for Norman Lockhart to swing by and capture a couple of images. Rob. 21 6
