  2. If it were Rails of Sheffield, then they would come under the category of “diesel locomotive”.
  3. I think I have said before. But I think it’s the entrance to Little Muddles speak easy.
  4. TT120s are new models, I have played around with converting a lot of locos to DCC and the 18 pin socket isn't much bigger than a six pin if you take both parts of the connector (socket plus plug on decoder), so for a new loco 18 pin is a better option.
  5. "One offs" for specific events are not unusual. Peugeot built a special 405 for Ari Vatanen to challenge the Pikes Peak record in 1988.
  6. Hi there, welcome on board (I note this is your first post on RMweb). Having a think, most of the examples of Narrow Gauge lines I can think of fall into one of two categories: a) lines dedicated to one type of industry (eg: North Wales slate quarries), either self-contained, or perhaps long ones down to a coastal port for shipping, or b) common carriers serving communities that didn’t have a standard gauge line (eg: Welshpool and Llanfair). Your concept gives you the chance to maximise operation by drawing on both ideas, but I’m not enough of a geologist to know how close quarries and coal mines might have been. My suggestion would be a location in England (rather than Wales), perhaps Staffordshire for example, but that just a thought. Others will know more (especially if there are examples in Wales I’ve not thought of), but I hope that helps a bit, Keith.
  7. On my computer it was showing right way up on a thumbnail but inverted when loaded on here. So inverted it on my computer and saved to a different file. So now the newly saved one is upside down but so is the original thumbnail. I suspect when downloading it to a different computer it lost the original sense of direction. Don
  8. They said all new tooling. Ive cleared part of my calendar too. You can bet the moment I go back into the meeting, the finall batch 1 66’s will be released in a shark frenzy that ends just before my next call does.
  9. Ian, No doubt now that you have made a fitted two new lamps the errant pair of posts, will now show themselves.
  10. The title of the announcement YouTube video says it is 00.
  11. Its been a long time since a new diesel tooling announcement… For Accurascale it was the class 31 in Jan 2022. Pan industry, the Bachmann class 31 was Jan 24, Cavalax class 60 Feb 2023, KR class 40 in Nov 2022. so, putting the head to head 31’s aside, its actually been a bit of a gap there, no wonder were all gagging for it.
  12. (I Know) I'm Losing You....The Temptations
  13. Down in Cornwall this week. …. Lepidoptera at Crackington Haven Back home today in time for an SLW delivery…. 😀
  14. He flew that kite before the last election too. steve
  15. Surprised the 73 is more requested than the 33. The Dapol 73 (later batches) being pretty good and the Heljan 33 still having various issues (and a cow to fit DCC sound). I suspect a 58 (though my preference is an all new 33).
  16. Good morning all, Blue sky and sunshine here and it should be a mainly dry and sunny day. 11°C rising to 20°C. A walk to Asda has been scheduled after breakfast to collect some magazines and a couple of other things that The Boss has deemed "essential." After that I'm on kitchen appliance maintenance duties with both the dishwasher and washing machine, particularly the latter, needing some cleaning in the filter and soap dispenser compartments. Steve is visiting at lunchtime as he's leaving his car here while going to the US of A with (our)grandson Joe tomorrow. He's got a cat sitter living in his place for a week to look after Tigerpuss so he's leaving her his parking space. The lads are travelling in style and Steve has got them a business class club suite? on the plane. Later on I may visit The Shed to work out how to safely dismantle the O gauge plank without dropping it (or anything) on the OO layout beneath it. Tea has been taken up to Her Bossness who is now on the move so I bestbeaboutitandgettamoveon. Have a good one, Bob.
  17. I know some of Hornbys ex "hifi" models have been surpassed by new versions from new entrants but is the Hornby HST at a stage that a new version is necessary? Fair enough if the required mk3s to go with power cars were highly detailed like the recent mk2s with lighting too but beyond that where could the HST be improved? Anyway got an alarm set to stick the kettle on just before 11am today....... I would love AS to do a Hattons 66 job on Hornbys Class 87 and bring it up to scratch. Its got the basics right and was much inproved over the old Lima then Limby models but theres scope for the ultimate 87 not least ease of decoder fitting, metal pan and a quality full lighting suite..... Frankly I'll eat my hat if they do the Class 13 as it was only a class of 3 from memory and also limited to the Tinsley area. Not ideal to use as a good long term seller imho.
  18. Agreed, if you have the space, a continuous run is always worth putting in place. 👍
  19. There was a railtour involving a long rake of 4-wheel coaches that ran in conjunction with the event and I caught an S-Bahn service to Schonefeld after leaving the site to get a photo of it, as seen in this poor scan of a slide..... This 155 passed through on a freight whilst I was there...... For the afternoon, I headed off the the Berliner Parkeisenbahn for a ride and a look around. Not all the route options were in use at that time as can be seen from the disused station. That was my second visit to the operation and they seemed to have used differnt route variations on each of the times......... Later on in the day, I used Klosterstrasse U-Bahn station and took some photos of the rather nice DDR era commemorative tile displays there which feature historic Berlin transport vehicles.....
  20. Hello Nick Do you know which LST? My father was a Petty Officer Motor Mechanic in LST 410. I undertook much research into the ships - as far as we know, they were the only 'ships' of the Royal Navy never to carry a name, only a number. There was a reason for that. As an 'assault vessel', they weren't expected to survive, but - thankfully - the authorities got their calculations wrong and few were lost that way. I might well have some information that will be of interest to you. Brian
  21. I've blocked it out in Teams. I reckon it won't be OO.
