Hello everyone - again ! After being locked out of my own account again for technical reasons, I have finally managed to open a new account after quite a few attempts as verification mails were not received regardless of various new email accounts ! Anyhow yes 310 is back with us and did a solo run yesterday as 605 tried eating a tree last week as did the up Hind. Pic on my Flickr stream.

It was said yesterday at a local meeting that our first internally refurbished sleeper coach won't now be with us until June st the earliest..... ,however work should start straight after Easter on the depot rebuilding.

Thanks. Hate it when modern tech lets u down through nobody's fault. And I think I can now post photos, not that Long Rock's lighting and sun angles are any good !

Was forced to join another forum but this one deals with real stuff not politics or speculation and apart from a prototype bus/coach section, has everything. A thank you to

admin and such there !

Glad to be back.

Agree should never have been sold off ,talking to many crews on lifeboats they are further away from a helicopter now but the new service is working well and has new helicopters which work well with the lifeboats.

I come to RMWeb to get away from politics and other aspects of real life that get in the way of model railways. May I request politely that those who wish to continue this discussion move it to the Wheeltappers section?

Thanks.

A lot depends on your age and if you were a train spotter.   When I first started trainspotting they were only about thirty years old or so and you kind of grow old with them.  For me especially having left the UK in 1963, I never really knew a diesel so steam reigns eternal and the engines look just as they did all those years ago.  I should be so lucky!

Just an everyday working sight in various parts of the WR when i was a youngster - part of a normal scene although it was one where the diesels began to impinge.

Those Cornish clouds - lovely!  Scenery too!!  Trains as well!!!

Brian.

There's one contemporary railway photo book author who makes comments in his captions about interesting cloud formations, is it Michael Welch?

The rail tour that should have been coming to Penzance on Tuesday… last I heard it was cancelled beyond Plymouth. Now I'm being told that while the train terminates in Plymouth the locos are coming to PZ for stabling? Why not Laira? (Seems the logical place if they're stopping in Plymouth) that's my first question. Second is, is there any truth in this and if so, what time is it?

As I understand the locos are being detached at Plymouth

and the train is diesel hauled to Penzance.

The locos are being turned on the triangle at Laira

and will run light engine, tender first to Penzance.

For more info check out uksteam.info\light engine movements.

So what's with the turntable at SBZ?  It was working OK last year and its a bit of a shame that after spending all that money on fares, the best part of the trip is behind a couple of diesels.

Brian.

Well at least they get steam back through the Duchy on Wednesday.

As for the turntable, I don't know what the problem.

I'm sure someone in the know will enlighten us in due course.
