The WD looks remarkably clean considering the date. Prototype for everything?

Some of the Dairycoates WDs were quite tidy, even at the end of steam in Hull.

Work finished on schedule at Bridlington

The new arrangement allows the same speed on both lines and gives a better run for northbound trains out of No4 platform. The new turnout is close to the original 1973 start of the single line.

Do you know whether it will be available to NERA members later as a recording? It clashes with our WMRA working open day?

It is also available as a 'zoom' meeting to NERA members (for those who are unable to attend in person), so I assume it will be recorded.

Good evening, everyone. This evening, courtesy of knoxrj, Matt Fisher and Simon Beeston, all on Flickr, we have four photo’s to enjoy.

We start with a not perfect, but historically interesting photo’ of a class G5, 1701, at Scarborough, in maybe 1928. I understand that G5’s were not too common in Scarborough.

1701 (67243)

The second photo’ is of another class G5, this one being 2088, at Hull Botanic Gardens shed, in the 1930’s.

2088 (67317)

Next we have a photo’ of 20311 and 20314 pass Brind en route to Hull with the second day of RHTT work in Yorkshire on the 3rd October, 2019.

Orange treatment

Finally, here’s a photo’ of 37422, and 37402, working train, 5Z51, the 13.11 Beverley to Hull Diarycoates Tilcon, on the 21st December, 2019.

Good evening, everyone. Firstly, I don’t know exactly what happened with the last photo’ yesterday, but I think, on looking at other photo’s of that train, on Flickr, and reading the captions, that a mix up of some kind must have happened. Well here is the correct details of that train for those who don’t know.

A Kings Cross to Beverley Charter on 21/12/19.

So, now for this evening’s four photo’s courtesy of Charlie Verrall, knoxrj, and Andy Hughes, all on Flickr.

The first one is a view of NER, 2-4-0, 269, at Bridlington, in c1912.

Next is a photo’ of class N8, 9373, at Hull Dairycoates, on  October 25th, 1947.

The third photo’ shows another class N8, this one being 9375, at Dairycoates, on April 29th, 1947.

Finally, we have a photo’ of 37402, on train, 2Z72, the 09.19, York Parcels Sidings, to Hull, at Selby Street, on the 12th September, 2013.

This train was filmed by Michael Marsden and is available on Marsden rail DVDs. Dets at Coxwold and a storming run up Nunnington bank are seen.

Hope it is OK to post this link to on-line news images from the plaques that have gone in at Bridlington Station. The two men deserve to be honoured and known about by enthusiasts.
