Poor Old Bruce
Think that image 6 is reversed. Train facing in opposite direction to others (look at wagons in image 7) Think you're wrong there, the reversing rod on the loco is still the same side and the fire iron tunnel on the other. Both are taken from the same end of the site but from different sides.

RMweb Gold stovepipe Posted December 20, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 20, 2015 Nearest crane is Ransome and Rapier 36 ton, or possibly 45 ton, steam crane. If Wakefield is correct, then the other crane may have come from Healey Mills or Holbeck. Location feels to me like it should be in the Dewsbury/Halifax area. LMS2968
I don't think it is. From the state of the front running plate, I don't think she's fresh off works. Her paint condition doesn't appear quite sufficiently pristine either.

Small world - my Nephew in law's grandfather drove 70013 off Crewe works that day, he has photos of the event, I'll see if I can locate them. sir douglas
we've had the loco in numbers 3&4 previously a few pages back, cant remember what i said 7- is that a pannier tank behind the 03? 8- D2128 http://shunterspot.myfreeforum.org/archive/03128__o_t__t_1431.html 10- i think is one of the Groudle Glen Bagnall 2-4-0's the traction engine would say its at Amberley museum, but there was a place that the museum was based at before moving to amberley but i cant remember the name
Marshall5
Number 10 is the former "Steam Centre" at Kirk Michael IoM when it was run by the late Johnny Walton. The traction engine is a Clayton & Shuttleworth now preserved in England and the loco is ex Groudle Glen 2-4-0T "Sea Lion" now restored and running at the GGR. In photo 7 there's a Pannier and restored Hawksworth BSK behind the O3 and other stock along the LHS so an early preservation site - maybe? Ray. Marshall5
Sir Douglas, you're thinking of Brockham Museum the forerunner to Amberley. The loco was the other GGR loco "Polar Bear" which was not nearly as stripped as "Sea Lion" which had been derelict since 1939. Cheers, Ray.
