phil gollin
. I found these on E-Bay (usual proviso, I have nothing to do with the seller - just some fascinating photos). The first two I find fascinating, although others may know about them already ; First, a Bullied on a favourite duty (I wonder who will do a suitable headboard) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-10203-at-Petts-Wood-in-3-55-Railway-Slide/312059548067?hash=item48a832d1a3:g:taAAAOSwmSdadd~J Second, Two EMU units I've never "seen" together before ; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-5-BEL-3052-4-BUF-3076-on-Wandsworth-Common-in-4-69-Railway-Slide/152892699378?hash=item23991d72f2:g:SE0AAOSwjSJaddlS --------------------------- And now some less interesting ones ; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Southern-Electric-4-SUB-4104-at-Waterloo-in-9-70-Railway-Slide/152889756330?hash=item2398f08aaa:g:mtUAAOSwZoZacvbY https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-CLASS-73-E6004-at-Eastleigh-in-4-67-Railway-Slide/312059570572?hash=item48a833298c:g:t1UAAOSwb-5adegk https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-CLASS-73-E6006-at-Hither-Green-in-1963-Railway-Slide/312059568431?hash=item48a833212f:g:OIsAAOSwO~Vadedf https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-CLASS-73-E6001-at-Hither-Green-c1964-Railway-Slide/152892640193?hash=item23991c8bc1:g:ntIAAOSw9NBadcg3 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Bulleid-prototype-10201-at-Dorchester-South-in-5-52-Railway-Slide/152888615736?hash=item2398df2338:g:UBgAAOSwZA1acfIm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Southern-Electric-2-HAL-2601-at-Eastleigh-in-1962-Railway-Slide/312058860193?hash=item48a82852a1:g:digAAOSwajVadJ-O https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Hastings-DEMU-1025-at-Crowhurst-6-58-Railway-Slide/312058872575?hash=item48a82882ff:g:4QkAAOSwbPNadKQZ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-CLASS-71-E5009-at-Victoria-in-8-64-Railway-Slide/312057284117?hash=item48a8104615:g:kM0AAOSwbWZacgGa https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Southern-Electric-6-PUL-3018-leaves-Worthing-in-1960-Railway-Slide/312058876961?hash=item48a8289421:g:V3cAAOSwm~dadKU5 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-CLASS-70-Southern-Electric-20001-at-Lancing-on-24-8-62-Railway-Slide/312059410769?hash=item48a830b951:g:2usAAOSwKXdadaIQ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Southern-EMU-6-PAN-3024-passing-Forest-Hill-in-8-64-Railway-Slide/152892627558?hash=item23991c5a66:g:8CEAAOSwaLdadcSK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Southern-Electric-4-LAV-2922-at-South-Croydon-in-8-67-Railway-Slide/312059414887?hash=item48a830c967:g:mWEAAOSwCMtadaQ0 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Southern-Electric-4-SUB-4301-arrives-at-Woking-in-9-60-Railway-Slide/152892621227?hash=item23991c41ab:g:ysgAAOSwXf1adcKs ------------------ And, my favourite, because it is so rare to get such a lovely shot of such a work-a-day unit ; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COLOUR-RAIL-Southern-EMU-4-SUB-4741-at-Clapham-Junction-in-9-66-Railway-Slide/152892519554?hash=item23991ab482:g:jFQAAOSwh21adacp .

Darius No, they were in the middle of the queue. We were at the front of that train so we managed to get down to the subway in about 5 minutes, up the steps to platform 1 to take the shot then took another 5 minutes to get down to the ticket office and squeeze our way out of there. We could see people still standing in the queue in the new stairs from platform 0 some time whilst we were waiting for a service bus home from the bus station across the road. Peter Kazmierczak
Third rail; just! A pair of Class 313s arrive at Drayton Park on a Moorgate - Letchworth service. The pans will go up during the station stop.
Peter Kazmierczak
Since school was closed today, I ventured down to Poole. Judge Dread
Talking of the Bury line - what was the profile of the side-contact juice rail?? Was any of it (even a short length for display) saved? The group I am a member of acquired a layout based on the Holcombe Brook branch. We restored it but when in came to the third rail and the fact that the prototype of this had a wooden cover with a narrow slot in it, we decide to use a square section wood with a pencil mark to represent the slot. We worked on the "three foot" rule. To directly answer your question, because the pick up shoe only ran against the top, side section of the conductor rail, that would must likely be standard bull head rail but if it is encased................ Wickham Green
Hi, This is one I took on Christmas Eve 2016, one's an EMU anyway. Steve Well, yes that looks like a 377 far left - and a diseasel to the right ............ but I think we need a new term to the 700s etc. : 'Electric Unit' OK - but the things are too damned long to run in 'Multiple' with anything else ! ( in normal traffic, anyway )
RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted March 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 23, 2018 'White Motors' has been coined by some for the Thameslink 700's following on from the Class 700 ex LSWR loco 'Black Motors', they have been christened other names, most of them unprintable by some commuters who have been scanning the new timetables carefully in an attempt to avoid them... Oh - can you still get timetables ? ....... I thought we had to rely on these 'Journey Planner' thingies - which are OK in you've already planned your travel times and start / finish points ( spelled EXACTLY the right way ) ................................. gimme a paper timetable any day - so I can all see my OPTIONS at a glance. Must admit the 700s have one advantage over the other 'wind tunnel' sets ( 378, 'S' stock etc ) the seats face the right direction !
