Ahhhh but there's the issue of operational access ... working 90s can go anywhere under the wires, 92s, those under DB can't operate on the English network at present, so the 90s still win, even with their reliability issues. Skodas > Dysons

Class 92, was a complicated beast designed for a job that never fully materialised, based on a spec the size few could comprehend! It's basically 2 locomotives in one, hence cost about £3.5m each.  Class 60s cost about £1.2m each in comparison.

The 90 was just a more upto date 87.....hence the original designation of 87/2!

One of the most interesting conversations I ever had with engineers at Brush, was that the Class 60 and Class 92 were the 'BR' versions that conformed to the BR engineers spec.  A true Brush Class 60 and 92 would have been somewhat different! Cue Class 89.....(Must order one of those after the Class 92s come!)

cheers Craig

Around Warley time give or take a few weeks. I believe they are currently en-route to Accurascale HQ.

Yes, but due to the weight of the locos, if Ukraine run out of mortar shells there is talk some may get comendeered to help the war effort.

Apparently IRM donated the black and Orange Deltic but instead of auctioning for the cause, a Ukraine General who couldn't read English used it as a shell and the Russians surrendered a city!

I'm sure if Accurascale wanted to assist  they would start producing OO gauge tractors...

The technical spec would be "off the chain."

Probably the wrong place to make this comment, but the sold out button is a bit of a backwards offering on the accurascale.com site.

Perhaps, the alternate showing what is *In stock* would be more useful for people with money to spend :-)

We actually have a special 'in stock' collection - currently we've 112 SKU's in stock, ready to ship!

Sold out, is only classed as cruelty to animals if its something you really really needed.  Beyond that, it's just model train porn and a useful reference of what we could have had......

On the top left of all collections, there are three buttons also, allowing you to filter the view to what's in stock, what's on preorder and what's sold out.

Ahh, I think I had a moment! The in stock button only appears if there is stock available, as opposed to In Stock (0) for nothing available (which might be a helpfuly addition for those like me that didn't get it.  But the 'in stock now' page is great. Well it was till I spotted a few things I wanted 🤣

Paid my final installment earlier. Really looking forward to this model. The photos I have seen so far are stunning. Congratulations to all the people who have worked on this project.

Given that Accurascale don't seem to have any immediate plans for a second run with a nice EPS loco, I've caved and ordered 92003 Beethoven from Rails. It'll be getting anew identity as 92045 Chaucer in due course.

For anyone who is looking for a model that is sold out on Accurascale's website, Rails of Sheffield are still showing all variants available to pre-order.
