The lighting setout is complex and not set up out of the box. We recommend a Lokpilot with the custom.file installed from the ESU website in order to work all functions. Which gaugemaster decoder are you using?

get an ESU blown with the file is the best option you’ve got in my opinion… admittedly I tweeked mine so both markers and headlight came on with F0 and headlight off on a different function.

First time I've seen the Märklin decoder mentioned in combination with the Cavalex 56 - up until now, 59619 and 59629 (nmra compliant) have been mentioned. I'm assumung you've checked that 59659 works and doesn't damage the circuitry connected to pins 4 and 13 in the locomotive ?

Just want to add my Thanks for Superb Customer aftercare service, not only for the bits I needed a month or so back to sort out one 56 Model but for the personal hand over today of some more bits for my six.

And to have a brief look at 60001 and a good chat.

Cheers CavAlex For the fabulous and outstanding  service!

I also want to thank Alex and the team for their outstanding customer service in dealing with some issues with mine and a friend’s 56s.
Great to catch up briefly at Model World LIVE.

Like a complete tool ive just accidently knocked mine off the layout and now isn't running properly like a cardon shaft maybe has dislodged.

Any guides on getting access to the bogie towers?

Body detail stood up well to the excursion just one aerial gone missing in the carpet.

In the first instance remove the body and look into the bogie tower access windows on the side of the chassis and see if any of the worm cover cap clips have popped loose.

If any are not clipped down they can easily be clipped back in place with a small flathead screwdriver.

Feel free to contact us via email if you need further guidance.

Hi Cav,

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes both covers had come loose, re-attached and now running smoothly again. ☺️

An example of the excellent build quality and robustness of these fantastic models.

Regards

Scott.

Here is 56008 doing what she was built for.  Note how sure-footed she is over the crossovers.

Love that, takes me back to Doncaster when I was a kid!

It has such a feeling a weight to the sound file - excellent stuff!

I have four 56's and to me it has the best sound quality in the market today.

It is crisp, solid and flawless throughout the volume range without any distortion or body rattle when gunning it thus hat's off to Cavalex for a fine sound file and reproduction in 4mm, an absolute joy to listen to!

The sound on the 56's is next level, the model itself is outstanding but the sound really has moved things on. I hope everyone else can get their sound to match Cavalex going forward.

I have to agree the sound is brilliant, I have the Accaurscale 37 and it’s not a patch on the 56 sound wise. It’s been turned down to stop it cutting out, not the best solution in my opinion.
To me it still seems little to bassy I get the feeling there’s a slight distortion and rattle when it’s running round the track maybe the real things do the same but whatever I end up turning the sound off. Where’s the Cavalex 56 is has clear as a bell. Model wise there not much in it detail wise apart from the fact that if comparing the first loco releases then the 56 doesn’t come with unidentifiable parts sitting at the bottom of the box. More 56s and the 60 will have to be added to the fleet.

I my love my Cavalex 56, but can’t help feeling the sound debate is a bit like saying my Lamborghini is better than my Ferrari, forgetting I had a Ford Escort and a Mini Metro

PS - I have never had a Lambo or a Ferrari.

Was online a couple of weeks ago when Rails put their last 56s on line, all of them being in-house weathered versions.  I’m always a little cautious with “production line” weathering (they had lots available), but I have to say I’m chuffed to bits with what I got. Anyone know who did the weathering for them?

Thought you were going to say you'd never had an Essie or Metro !!

Finally managed to make final payment on my three yesterday. Hoping to get them during next week. Just got to find the cash for the SLW 25 with sound I have on order now (fortunately for me, but perhaps not for others, they've been somewhat delayed).
