As shown here in a Class 31 driver’s desk photo on Flickr: https://flic.kr/p/d5vWBm

Edit: which of course also shows the reason for the Toffee Apple nickname.

Hi Roy,  that isn't a toffee apple but obviously with the red know it's easy to see why you would think that

A toffee apple controller is pictured here. The handle was removed when changing ends and to reverse the loco the handle was turned

Are we back to Deltic sized boxes again? How am I supposed to get them into the house without being noticed…

Just say your building an extension, bricks are heavy so your bringing them one at a time.

Most diesels had black dials with white lettering.  Some early 20s had white dials

Oh go on then. Here you go; just released. I decided to put the AWS sunflowers on there too.

Great to see so many familiar faces at the NEC this weekend. So much for having today off...

Excellent Steve.  I'll be ordering some decals from you when my GFYE 31 arrives as I want to do one with 4 large double arrows and tops font numbers

Whats an external difference between the Mirrlees and EE engined versions? Are there some vents blanked on some?

Different roof exhaust panel to start with

It has to be said - this is really fabulous and includes the most accurate rendition of the windscreen area I’ve seen on a model of a Brush Type 2 - diesel and electric models in OO often seem to get the pillars too wide but this looks perfect (possibly the fine rendition of the windscreen rubber helps this). I’ve just been comparing it with Graham Wareham’s Flickr photo of it at Stratford in the late 60s (where it had a D!!) - good to see there’s room to add Ds for the pre August 68 modelling officianados 😀

According to Accurascale the 31s are due in the next 6 weeks so not long at all. I'd be allowing 2 extra weeks for the diversionary shipping route and a week to unload and start distribution so I reckon we'll have these in our sticky, grubby palms by early July.

The decorated sample at Model World Live looked phenomenal too.

Can't wait!

Yes, I think that's Batch 1 which is just the Blue ones. Fran can confirm if that's correct....
