Popular Post leopardml2341
Hello folks, Missed a couple of days (I think) here so I've done a quick read through and hopefully hit the correct ratings buttons. Today has been an 'everything is going to go wrong day' so I gave up on trying to achieve anything useful sometime ago. A load of ironing do a bit later, but in the meantime a cuppa. Evenin' all. 5

There are "mall walking" clubs in Canada - not surprising, given what winters can be like. 12 2
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted December 29, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 29, 2019 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Had a good day expending modelling tokens but all on things with rubber encased wheels. The young'n was taken to Smyth's where he became enamoured with a scooter powered by a treadle mechanism to the extent of riding the display one up and down the aisles. One was duly purchased but when his dad started to assemble it either part of the mechanism was missing or faulty and it wouldn't work. So later this week it will be going back for a replacement.

The Three Fishes is a superb pub where we were drinking Three Tuns Stout only yesterday but Shrewsbury was wedged with large groups of drinkers so we only stayed for one and moved on. Walked out of Loggerheads due to it being way too queued up to get served. The station was that packed with queues forming down the stairs to the barriers and thus jammed up preventing people entering the station that it looked very unsafe. never seen the station or town that crowded before in all the years we have been visiting. Will definitely avoid at holiday times in future. A good day in Lichfield today visiting various drinking establishments then back in Brum to finish the evening. Home to dry out for a day then it all kicks off again. 10

Popular Post tigerburnie
Evening all, nice enough day here, went to a garden centre to get some seeds in the half price sale, had my monthly free coffee from the loyalty card and back home for lunch. Ordered some weathering powders to try my first go at making brand new stuff look more like the real thing, I'll practice on a wagon or two before getting carried away on the more expensive stuff. 19

RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted December 29, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted December 29, 2019 And here was little old me thinking that HH had migrated to the muddy hollow (sud) that is still at a good size. Here the shed has been visited and 2 doors look resplendent in their proper new colour. I even did a bit of wiring above the new bench to start replacing the old 3 phase sockets with 240v outlets. A nice roast beef dinner with some lovely Yorkshire puddings was then taken and whilst watching a bit of TV we finished off a bottle of bubbly and that washed down a chocolate eclair each. We also had a rather spectacular sunset looking out towards the aforementioned muddy hollow. Goodnight all. Jamie

brianusa
Late riser today again ! The pretty sunset shots are a welcome relief for those in the PNW as its been grey and gloomy for ages now. Depends where you are but today has finally seen the sun come out. Not much time to do anything today, very late elevenses, more like oneses; read the paper, answer EMs, cook dinner, watch some telly and thence to bed again later. Need to call electrician tomorrow as part of a circuit went out last night. Right now extension cords to the fore! "And thats the way it is" as Walter Cronkite used to say. Who's Walter Cronkite................................... Brian. 14

RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted December 29, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted December 29, 2019 Good evening everyone Another day when not a lot has been done, although Sheila has been quite busy and my main task has been to keep out of the way. I wasn’t going to argue with that and so plenty of reading and research has been done. Later this evening I spoke to my brother in Canada and as is the norm with our conversations we talked about nothing in particular, but did so for just over an hour. After that, I poured myself a pint of ‘Old Speckled Hen’ Goodnight all
Popular Post AndyID
Made it to the dumpsters but as soon as I got back on the road the front right tire started to deflate. The local cowboy builders who shouldn't even be dumping there are forever sweeping all the carp and nails out of their trucks. The effers got me again! By the time I got home it had dropped from 40 psi to 23 psi. Managed to swap it for the spare after I had discovered where the jack and tools are hidden and eventually worked out how to drop the spare which is held under the truck be by a hand operated winch. Those big wheels are not half heavy.
