Rugd1022
Well I never thought this would happen - I'm learning 70s this week at Crewe.... have to admit I'm not really looking forward to it, I've heard so many tales of woe about them from mates who already sign them. Best piece of advice I've had so far is to make sure I make a brew before setting off as you can't pour one on the go due to rough riding!
RMweb Gold big jim Posted October 13, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 13, 2019 You’ll be alright nige, they are a quirky loco but are also very good when they go well and if they do mess up there’s not a lot you can go looking for yourself, you’ll enjoy them especially compared to a class 66 on an intermodal Noise wise! 2
Steadfast
Make your brew Nidge, but don't go over half full or it'll be in your lap I've only dealt with the citrus ones first hand, but computer seems to be the source of many of the issues in day to day use. Most things seem to be sorted with a reboot! Jo 1

Not that I ever did such a thing lol PS No overheating problems, stick a glove in the fire bell Edited October 13, 2019 by 25901 1

Powerhaul 70 Pey
It is rare enough to see a Freightliner 70 north of Acton Bridge on the WCML these days but a Freightliner 70 on a stock move? Freightliner 70003 is photographed at Balshaw Lane Junction in Euxton, Lancashire in slight fog hauling 5K66 Longtown M.O.D to Crewe C.S. (L&Nwr Site) with a Transpennine Express Nova 3 set in tow.

stevea
Hi Unfortunately the 70s' new found work on potash duties seems to have come to and end with the apparent storage of the whole fleet of FL 70s, as well as over a dozen FL 66s, in the current dreadful circumstances Steve
